stats haven't shown up yet, but the villian hasn't done anything of note really. He hasn't raised that much PF and has been a ghost at the table. MP was new to teh table, so nothing much on him

Comments on all streets are welcome as I wasn't sure about raising the flop, 3betting PF to hopefully clear the field. I wasn't sure at most points in this hand

I'd really like to check/fold here... I'm certain MP is on a flush draw, lol.

Man, I can't bet this... I check and see what happens. I think in theory we should not overcall, but I say that all the time, but the pot odds make me call lots more than I should, I think...

You had it right though, puke, and then check.

Btw, I think I'd 3-bet pf and try to fold one or two of these limpers.

As played, flop raise is goot.

Actually, I'm torn on pf here.

I like our relative position, and our ability to protect our hand on a safe flop... hmmmmm

If I could 3-bet pf and knock out the limpers and get it heads up with the small blind in position and with all the dead money in the pot I'd feel more comfortable with the hand postflop. Heads up, we may still be able to win the pot when overcards hit, but with 5 players we'd have to flop really good.

he didn't 3bet the flop

either he has a small pocket pair, or Ax.

Turn: he's not represnting the J

River: I am very worried about the K. He's representing Ax or a very small pocket pair. While he might call down w/A9+, more realistically he has either A10, AK, or AQ.

Is he willing to raise oop from sb in a limped pot with A10? Most donks, no.

Ak or AQ, I'd rather just check behind.

Mike,

You notice there's a 3rd player in the pot behind us, right?
mikeysong
i completely missed that.

99 is a bit tricky in this spot preflop since I will always 3bet TT and always call 88. Your relative position is very good to protect your hand on a favorable flop, but I still prefer a 3bet preflop to fold maybe 1 of the limpers but also for value.

As played, flop and turn play are good, I would check the river and call only if the guy in btwn folds (ie I would not overcall).

I 3bet preflop.

As played, I think a flop raise is necessary.
I can't imagine playing on without a raise to thin the field.

Betting this river aganist two opponents with 4th pair (behind K, J, 2) seems bad.
Standard check-call, in my opinion.
