Meh, he's short so he could just be trying to get it all in with a lesser overpair.

I think this one is fine. But for the love of God or Allah or whatever, POST READS!

My normal line is to just call down after he leads turn into my flop cap.

Villain is 45/22/1 over 40 hands. Other than that, no reads here. I'm not even sure if I had that info in the hand though.

With Button still in there with a lesser hand, I continue to raise every chance I get.

I play it the same.

I know you say that a lot, but when we're behind UTG, us behind ahead of the button is completely and utterly meaningless.

Obviously I don't feel we're behind UTG enough to fold, but I don't feel we're ahead enough to raise.

My logic:

When we are ahead of UTG, every bet/raise we make gains double the value (because of Button).
Thus we need to be ahead far less often to make this play profitable.

Since there is so much room between Top Pair (8) and our pair of Queens, I see plenty of room for UTG to be pushing with a lesser hand.
We lose to 22, 33, 55, 88.
But each of these is significantly less likely than 99, TT, JJ.
Note: I rule out AA, KK based on the preflop action.

When you add this fact to this particular hand, I think it pushes it over the top and makes it much more correct to keep raising.

Yeah, on this specific hand for sure.

In a normal stacked game, I think raising his turn lead is suicide. He has to put us on at least an overpair better than his by the action. His lead tells me we're behind way too often to raise the turn, with or without the 3rd guy tagging along.
