What other books have you read?
I dont think you should start with this if you haven't read any others...like the HOH series.

Two entirely different books...one does not supercede the other.
Actually, I have two copies. One came with a bent cover, and the seller was kind enough to replace it.
Ace is a good book, almost a coffee table type book. It's not a tutorial, per se.

It's an excellent book but with virtually zero strategy type content. It's more about a poker mindset and what the life of a pro is like.

I didnt mean specifically HOH, but Ace is more for established experienced players. He'd be better off reading some strat guides if he hasn't read any other poker books.

Yup. Still an interesting read though.

OP, check out the book forum. You'll get plenty of feedback that's been previously written there.

I highly recommend the book. I think it is great even for beginners since it gives a good insight into what it takes to be a poker pro. I prefer this type of book over a poker strategy book since most of those seem to take a very mechanical approach to poker.

If you are looking for additional reading, look at Phil Hellmuth's Play Poker Like the Pros. It is eye opening and life changing.

If you want a good poker mindset, read the section of Super System 2 that Mike Caro writes. It's a very good read, plus if you haven't read Doyle's take on NL, then you should.

Got it for Christmas two years ago. Had it read the same day. Not really about poker strategy. It's more about the life of being a pro and the pitfalls that can get you in trouble. It does have some sample hands, but it is more of a coffee table book
