To preface, CO was a maniac in my eyes, but we're only 10 hands deep.

he was splashing, and made his stack by overplaying a pair of jacks (weakly) so i called OOP with an awful hand

that said...I have no read on UTG, but what do you all think here?

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $15/$30
8 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero! is SB with A icon_suit_spade.gif 7 icon_suit_spade.gif
UTG calls, 3 folds, CO raises to $90, Button folds, Hero\! calls, BB folds, UTG calls.

Flop: 5 icon_suit_club.gif 6 icon_suit_spade.gif 8 icon_suit_spade.gif ($300, 3 players)
Hero! checks, UTG checks, CO bets $150, Hero\! calls, UTG raises all-in $1470, CO folds, Hero???

Edit for converter problems'

FARG!! converter is still ****ing with me...but i would basically be all-in if i call here...id have one or two big bets.

And the CO was the one i had a read on...UTG took me by surprise with this move.

What did the CO do after UTG's raise?

I would have raised the flop when I had the first chance, btw. Or even bet out, and shoved to a raise.

Could you give some more details about the tourney? Buy-in, single table or multi, etc.

What hand could UTG be playing here? The made straight would mean he limped OOP and then called a raise with 97 or 97s, which is definitely possible early in a micro SnG but not sure about the details here. You have the NFD, so other legit options are that he's playing the 2nd NFD (say, KJs) or an OESD. That kind of move is rare at the $1.20's, but again not sure the details here. The third option is a set, though I'm not sure how many players would check-raise all-in with a set on this flop. Fourth option is something like A8s and he's overplaying the weak TPTK.

I'd contact full tilt if that was the case

I meant A8 suited, not A8 spades.

Yeah, I would have bet out.

Still, you're getting odds with the OESFD, and your Ace might even be an out too. Call.

beat his chips into the pot

Shove and I would have check/raised the flop but you want all your chips in on the flop

Easy call now. If he has a set, you're about 38%. If he has the straight, you're actually 42% to at least chop.

1. Bad idea. Wait for big hands to trap a maniac.

2. There's nothing wrong with calling off all of your chips with this draw, even though it is early. With 15 outs twice, and maybe even 3 aces for 18, you're a favorite over one pair, or even two pair, and you're close to even money against a set. (I'm sure someone would be glad to pokerstove it.) This is an instant call.
