After seeing some of his hands showndown (10-4, J-4, 3-6, 8-2) it became apparent that he was an absolute maniac.He would raise literally everytime on the button and if I limped from the button he would raise me. Hey, Anyone know of a good structure for a rebuy tournament at home. I just started trying out rebuys at home and everyone loves them now. We usually have between ten and twenty players and a rebuy period of 30-45 minutes if u lose all of your chips.This seemed to work out fine but the last tournament with the same structure was a total crap shoot. The blinds didnt increase any faster than normal, it just seemed like everyone was short stacked except for two guys who got really lucky in the rebuy period.Also any ideas on payout structure would help too. I would never lay down kk preflop in a SG tourney. Especially in a $20 banger. At this level it is always profitable, positive EV, to move in with KK everytime preflop. Youll be alot better off if u just roll with ur cowboys preflop and go ahead and reraise all in preflop. Sometimes u will run into aces, but there are too many other hands that he could have to make this a correct laydown.

The online poker sites have way too much to lose and not much to gain by messing with the randomness or any other "rigged" accusation. They make millions every day and would never jeopardize the cash machine that is online poker. its possible for hackers to break in somehow but that is why they spend so much on security. They want u to be safe and just pay the rake. Collusion could happen but no more often than in live holdem i feel, and they monitor that too.

Yikes. What were the blinds? Im sure they were pressing u pretty hard before you got down to 2000 in chips. Once your stack dwindles to less than ten times the BB it is move time. You may not like it but you have to move in and take blinds. So what if u get called...maybe u double up and get right back in there. Any two live cards will do. Pick ur spot and go for a ride sooner next time especially if just making the money doesnt matter.

You played it right. K-9 suited is more than enough to steal blinds with. Its amazing, the aggressive idiot that this guy is, that he just called u preflop. All in was the move on the flop for sure. Against an astute professional opponnent, a raise of less than all in might have worked better. But still, u are the favorite at that point so why not get the money in the pot when u still have him beat? Have u seen the 9 man sit and gos on pokerstars. They have $300, $500, and even $1000 sit and gos. Sure it is a much harder game than other STT, but if u can take down the $1000 tourney regualry u can definitely make a living. Just making one 3rd place finish every day would give u close to $350,000 for the year. I could live off that for sure.

Poker may not have been classified as a sport prior to this year. But now with the creation of the Professional Poker Tour, it should gain the recognition that the sport deserves. This is a series of tournaments with sponsored buy ins, much like the PGA Tour. Each player will have a tour card that they will keep by consistently getting results in these tournaments. If you want people to think of your job as a sport, qualify for a PPT tour card and you will be a pro in a pro sport.

Capping the betting preflop may not be correct in lower limit games. Often times this just builds the pot making it CORRECT for weak players to draw to gutshots, two pair, or whatever else. In these games ive found its profitable to raise only with aa or kk preflop, the rest i just limp. Play hit to win. That is limp with any hand that can make the nuts, see if you hit, and then pop it on the turn when the betting doubles. They will call.
