Bob Errey was one of the best players to control in one of the earlier NHL Hockey games for Genesis. Just win the faceoff, pass it to the wing and with his speed he would blow by the defence, do a little deke move and rack up like 20 goals a game.

All he had to do was put his stick down. No idea why he was content with just getting his body in front of Kesler. Just brutal.

Canada dominated this game in terms of puck possession but they couldn't really generate too many great scoring chances. Miller played very well but a lot of Canada's shots were directly at him. The problem in this game was Canada's defensive play. They looked really disorganized in their own end and Brodeur looked slow and awkward. Time to pass the torch to Lou and let him carry Canada to gold, although it'll be very tough as it looks like Russia in the quarters.

Not sure why but I never seem to hear Jimmy Howard's name in ROY discussions. He's got a 2.27 GAA and .930 SP with a decent win-loss record. I think he should have a pretty decent shot at winning.

I'm wondering how the max contract works in the event of a drop in the salary cap. If a player signs a multi-year max contract one year and then the cap goes down the following year, does the value of the contract then drop in order to not exceed the max a player can earn against the cap?

The score at any given time during the game can dictate how a team plays, which will have an effect on future events in the game. If a team is up a goal or two then they might close down their game and protect the lead, which will limit their offensive chances. Try explaining to Darryl Sutter during an intermission that instead of trying to protect his one goal lead for the last 8 minutes of a period, he should've been focused a little more on offense to break the tie.
