  1. yeah, definitely agree. I was just wondering more if anyone was out there that DID have a large sample from low buy in sit n go's and had similar results, or better on Pokerstars than other sites.
  2. I played on Pacific Poker for a long time, big sample, cashed about 57% of the time, about half of those Wins. Since Pacific shut down I quit for a long time but recently started playing Pokerstars. I mainly stick to the $5 sit n gos.So far on Pokerstars (small sample, I know) here are my numbers. Other players that keep accurate records let me know if you've found the games this easy to beat or if you think I'm just riding a hot streak...12 tourneys played8 cashes (67%)4 wins (33%)started with $50, up to $119 (minus a chunk I transferred to a buddy until he builds enough to give it back...
  3. I haven't played live SNGs yet, but that's all I play online as I have proven to myself that I can beat them consistently. I used to play Pacific Poker, where the play was horrible. I kept track of my results very closely and after playing about 75 tourneys ($5.50, 10 players), I cashed 57% of the time and won first place about 25% of the time. Then Pacific outlawed U.S. players. so I was semi-retired but recently started a Neteller account, paid the ridiculous 8.9% fee on about $200, then put $50 into Pokerstars. I was going to play a few different sites until I found the one I liked the
  4. wow, nice suck outthe way that guy was playing earlier I would have thought AQ was good too.
  5. I get 8/52 * 4/51 = about 83:1since the first card could be a K or a Q you have 8 shots, then 4 on the second card to get the other of the two. Still a sucker bet.
  6. Why would DN not be worried about Q9? or 79? Or a set? I can see re-raising him because he overplays draws, but I would think you re-evaluate when you're put all in with two pair. IF you're right about putting him on a draw it's a dangerous play, and you could be a huge dog if he has one of those monsters like a made straight or a set.
  7. I would have just called down after getting raised on the turn. You could still have hands like AQ, KQ beat. The flush looked probable though.
  8. looks like a classic case of falling in love with your hand. AK is pretty, but it's powerful because it's supposed to be easy to get away from if you miss. So get away from it when you miss like this flop did, especially when the pre-flop was capped and SB was representing a big pair...
  9. yeah, my head was jacked too. I was thinking on the turn that if I had put in one bet, then got raised I had to call two more bets instead of just the one I got raised. going to go read Sklansky again.might change my mind about turning pro next week...
  10. Actually, you'd be getting 4.75:1 to call down.8.5 BB in the pot after he raises the turn. So you risk 2 to win 9.5. So if you're good 18% of the time, you show profit. You're average number of outs against this guy will be somewhere around 7 outs, so you will outdraw him around 14% of the time. That means your KJ has to win a measly 4% of the time UI.BTW, I'm raising KJs pf in this situation most of the time.OK, I've got it now, in my first post I was starting my math off with $5.50 in the pot, not 5.5 big bets. But I still think you're math is off with this post, because you stand to lo
  11. stand to lose $6 to call it down (the $4 turn raise and a $2 bet on the river)stand to win the 5.50 in there, your turn bet ($2), the turn raise ($4), and the river bet by the villain ($2), making the final possible win $13.50.so I'd say the effective odds are just over 2:1, not 5:1. I think I have the math right... going off Sklansky's Theory of Poker...anyone agree/disagree?
  12. turn check is good. There's no way you're going to get anyone to fold to one big bet with the size of the pot. The best possible thing happened here - you got a free card and made your hand.hip hip hooray for my first post.
