  1. I feel that the Big Stack made a much worse play than the small stack. You have to realize that they small stack was under 1K in chips. He did not have much more of a choice here. He has the chance to hit a set and he would TRIPLE up. I justtify the play but the BB and small stack. But when the big stack re raises like this he is saying that he is very confident that he has the best hand! He realizes that you are going after the small stack and he is basically telling you, NO i have AA or KK and i can take this guy out myself. It was a terrible play for a hand that was not already made. Howeve
  2. A typical play of beginning poker players is to overplay low pocket pairs. And while pocket 9s are not necessarly "low" there is still almost always going to be at least one over card on the flop and many times 2. I personally hate being UTG with a medium pocket pair. But if i was in this situation i would have doubled the blind or limp in. After the other player re reaised to 35 i would have to anyalze the player. If everyone folds to the 35 chip raise i would consider simply letting him have the pot and live to see another hand. If ANOTHER player calls the 35 chip raise however I would love
  3. Moving all in when short stacked. This is one of the most interesting topics in NL hold em. And it is corrrect that it depends a great deal on how short stacked you really are. If im very low stacked and starting to keep an eye on the button because i know when the blinds get to me they are going to hurt me, then i might be going all in wiht something like suited connectors. I feel that suited connectors are better off for CALLILNG an all in if you are a big stack though. If someone has about 1/7 or 1/6 of my stack I could see myself calling a small all in with a 9 10 suited. You hope that you
  4. If you hit top pair three haned and they are Kings you have to remember that if you get to see the flop for free there is a high chance that someone does not have you out kicked. When you are just three handed and someone has a hand like K 9 or K8 they would most likely want to raise. This is a solid hand three handed. I would feel quite confident if there was no raises before the flop and i hit top pair with Kings. It is a completely different situation if you hit top pair with nines or something else a little smaller. I would come out firing strong with top pair and if i was beat i think the
  5. that is a tough decision. I think I might have also re raised with my Queens because you still have about 70K in chips and a huge chip lead if you do win the hand, not to mention an almost gauranteed third place. And with the 3rd player a loose player he would probably would give you a few chances to double up. There is no way that he would have folded the AK but i still feel that moving all in was a correct play. But i could see how you would want to fold the QQ.
