Sheesh, I haven't seen this Tilt show yet, but it sounds like they already used all the poker jargon that is in the known (and maybe unknown) universe already. Gonna get old fast??? Bleh, I'll end up watching it anyways... But it can't beat Cheers re-runs on TV land... lol.

I'm ashamed to ask, but what am I doing wrong?

When it comes to beats like the one you just mentioned with the set of Aces beat by the Broadway straight, you absolutely always want to put your money in in that situation!!! You want that guy to call you, every time, because you make money a lot more than you lose. Ya, we all get beat due to the laws of chance, but that's poker! You take the good with the bad. S happens!By all means don't knock yourself or get hard on yourself, because these things do happen, to everyone. Just remember that if you keep putting yourself in these very good situations (80% favorite +) that the odds are on -
Hmm, I bet that if the orangutan was playing NL hold 'em, that he would try to eat the chips instead of pushing them away. And maybe eats the cards too. My money would be on Daniel Negreanu in that situation like 70 percent of the time. Against an amateur fish, I bet on Daniel every single time. Not that he would win every time, not possible, but I like the odds much much better when he plays the amateur, instead of the orangutan. Or donkey, or sea lion, or whatever animal it is.

Well, since this is the bad beat section, might as well throw out my worse ever.Playing 3-6 recently this hand comes up. I get A 10 in the cutoff seat. An immediate raise from early position, a few folds, and I call along with the button and both blinds. Flop comes K Q 9 , giving me THE NUTS, with a ROYAL DRAW. Yeehaw I think to myself as the SB checks, the BB bets, pre-flop raiser raises (naturally), and I 3 bet it, SB folds, BB caps it, and call, call. Turn another club, this one the 7 . I still have the nuts and the royal draw, and I don't fear it necessairly, I can't be beat...

I do believe in luck, and I believe it comes in streaks more often than like lightning. We have all seen a SnG where one maniac player shoots down everyone else. And it isn't because he got the nuts every time, it's because he plays things like 4-3 off after a raise and re-raise, and busts pocket queens. (This may have happened to me...) But anyway, it goes both ways, we all get good runs of cards (not too often it seems) and we all get bad runs of cards (all too often it seems...). It happens to us all, and we just gotta deal with it. Heck, if we all never felt a bad beat, we woul

6-2 suited or off, doesn't matterSadly, in my group of friends that I play with this hand has been now dubbed "my hand of choice" due to the fact that I win with it more than any person should, ever. First time I played it like at least a year ago I held 6 2 in a limit hold'em tournament and was big blind. The gun raised and button called, I decide to call as well, just for fun as I was pretty good chip stack. The flop comes out 3-4-5 rainbow. I laugh to myself as I check, gun bets, button raises, I flat call, gun calls. Turn is a Jack, I check again, gun bets again, button raises aga

Well, since this is my first post, take it with a grain of salt or a mountain of salt...To me, I feel that poker is a game, but with clear differences from most games. The simple fact that money is involved only means that more people than some would believe that it is a gambling game, and that is true to a point. The point in question is indeed quite clear... poker, whether it is Hold 'Em, Stud, Draw, or what have you, is a game of exploitations and the skill to read those moments. Of course, poker itself is very much more indepth, but I think that it becomes more game than gamble when you
