  1. Dear all,I am in no way an english major or a relative of yours. I will try to speak in your "language" though while trying to "relate" to you.The WPT or "World Poker Tour" has made me millions. Since I am not an accountant you can not view those millions as a real number. But since I am not a mathamatician I can not replace millions with X either. At this point consider millions to be a variable representing a number higher and or lower than a million. Since I am not a stop watch, you can not view my stance on when I made that point as true. I am timeless and live in a void. I digress.**** I
  2. I'm a little "dissapointed" with the new FCP site. Don't get me wrong, I love the way it looks. It is flashy yet not too flashy. It is smooth and not clunky. But on Day 1 of FCP's creation, I came here for the Forum and Daniel's blog. Now on the main front page it is more about the new online poker software than it is about the blog and forum. I understand that the job is to make money, and the blog and forum do not make money while the game does.I don't know, but it just erks me that I had to really search the entire home page visually before I came across the journal when it was such a big pi
  3. So I created an IM name called BadBeated. This is purely for my entertainment but can be used if anyone wants to. I will gladly listen to ALL of your bad beat stories. I might even reply with an "ouch" or "man I feel for you" or I might not reply at all *if I am working, or if I was the one that delivered that bad beat*.So feel free to add BadBeated to your friendslist and whine all you want to me. Wheee!
  4. I play both SnGs as well as rings, but I do better in rings. Mainly because the blinds do not go up, so it leaves room for table image generation and selective hand playing. You can almost sit around and wait for the nuts on a ring table, then cash in on some chump who is tilting or a rich fish.SnGs you always have to worry about busting out, or someone playing their low stack all in protection card. The norms. Two completely different games. I think that is why I do better irl tourneys. I can wait longer and be creative with my moves.
  5. Not completely true. If you play a tight as nuts game, I know you to be playing strong hands. Strong aces and high pockets. ESPECIALLY if you are raising from UTG. I'm going to call you with my 87 off suit, if no high cards come down, even if I didn't hit, I am going to bet and probably push you off your overs. This is why we vary our hands.
  6. What value is there in that? Especially with AQ?He is either going to achieve thisAJ - on the money.....fold with nothing but ace highAny pair - will call knowing his read was WAY off the mark - negative valueAK - close but behindThe ONLY value on this bet is in fact that AJ or AJ-x being stupid enough to call the raise. Most normal people will fold just ace high. There isn't value in the bet. IF he was sure he had the hand won, he would check and take it there. Unless he thinks his oppononent is a gov agent paid to pay people off to make America happy.
  7. I don't think I believe him to have been 100% in his mind. I see no value in his bet after the river.
  8. Completely agree.Limping 5 way is almost going to always bite you in the butt. HE should not have ever been in that hand, and a simple raise of 5X BB plus 1BB per limper would have gotten a lot of those K crap hands out. Now he hits top pair and put you on a pure steal, or an idiot move. Now he catches a flush because he felt you were playing a steal, or a semi bluff draw. If you had the straight you wouldn't have pushed there, so the thought that you hit the straight already is out of the question. Also pushing with a middle pair looks like a protection push to me. You already had FOUR people
  9. Both sides misplayed this.He had nothing but ace high to call your all in. That was pretty foolish, but you never showed him anything really. You are betting 2X BB after the flop and turn. With so many preflop callers, and then post flop play there is like 20 Big Blinds in the pot already. *I'm not actually doing the math, just figuring an avg* 2 x BB is not going to scare me out even if I do only have AK here. Then your all in looks like a steal attempt from a hand you didn't feel confident with. I would not have called here, but he might have been thinking you were on a pure steal.
  10. I almost enjoy the call option with the intent on pushing no matter what the flop is. If you push here you will still get called by a variety of hands in later positions and probably most def the BB will call unless he has just TOTAL garbage. You also will probably be playing with live cards that have a decent shot at hitting.I know that you don't really want to go up against more than 1 person in a situation like this, but it would be nice to triple up.Pushing is probably the smart money, but I would probably just call with the intent on pushing on the flop, or calling if someone comes over me
  11. Hard to sayCould be a pure bluff with that much of an overbet. Could just be TPTK, or Two pair. He could have lots of things. You have ace high. You fold with a smile.
  12. I am one to fully believe that laying down AK vs 2 other people isn't that bad of an idea. But lets look at some things. The very small all in vs the large all in. You can consider the very small all in a throw away, if that person has the goods then it will cost you 1k, but that is not what you are after. You are after the huge side pot which is heads up. You have a chance at getting 2k out of that, and heads up with AK is about as good as the next thing. Specially for someone saying they are trying to win this and accumulate chips early. This is a great chance to.
  13. sites are about keeping players. Win/lose doesn't matter. The main concern is customer support and making their customers happy. They do that with free rolls and rebuy bonuses.Realize if you win 50$ a week or hell, a month. That is 50$ another person is down. All those rakes are house. Free money.
  14. I like UBbut I HATE that damn "pot" button. No one makes bets on the site. It is always pot pot pot, no thought behind the betting. On the flip side it is good because people with middle pair or a draw will just hit pot, and if you have a strong hand you can take them for a bunch. But really....it takes away the fun
