  1. GaYaled,If you are concerned about the dollar, you can always hedge your home currency against it. Since you are in Israel, I'll assune it is the shekel. What you are buying is technically a "put option" ... the right to sell US dollars for a fixed amount vs the other currency. If the dollar moves lower than the fixed price, you exercise the option. If it doesn't you let it expire. In other words it insures you against a drop in the dollar. However, as with any insurance, there is a cost. Unless you are moving large dollars, it is generally not worth it.Find a local broker and tell him yo
  2. Hey Dan,Welcome to the desert. Don't be alarmed when you burn your hands on your steering wheel this weekend. It'll be about 105+ every day between this Saturday and October ... but it's a dry heat ... kinda like your oven.I'm sure that by now you've gotten about 1000 responses about Casino AZ being the best place to play ... and it is the nicest with the most players, but if you prefer fish ... go to Gila River (south of town on I10). The players, esp at low limits, there are simply awful.Plus if you like tourneys, there are a couple of private rooms that run nice tourneys with cash games
  3. GO BUCKS!!I actually got back to Col's last week for the Minnesota game, and I already have my BCS Championship tix lined up. Nothing like having the Bucks here in my backyard (Phx) 4 of the past 5 years.
  4. Actually, if the odds of pulling AA are 220:1 (or 0.45%), you cant just multiply by the number of remaining players to get the odds of AT LEAST one of them pulling Aces. If that worked, two 50% coin flips would have a 100% chance one of each result. The odds of at least 1 AA out of the remaining 8 players has to be calculated as 100% - the odds of all 8 players NOT pulling AA.The odds of pulling AA is indeed 220:1 (0.45%) so the odds of NOT getting aces is 219:1 (99.55%).The odds of all 8 not having AA is NOT 8x99.55% but rather 99.55%^8 (to the 8th power)..9955^8= .9643 so the odds of at leas
  5. Thanks I appreciate it.And you are definitely right that nothing is written in stone and a lot can change before this is all over, so absolute statements are probably premature.Having actually read the bill, I was just trying to answer some questions that seem to be directly addressed in the bill as it stands right now. That said, I think it's obvious that the intent of this bill is to make it impossible for us to play for money. And if history is any guide, if a loophole like Neteller were to survive it would only be a matter of time before federal regulators would seek to close it.
  6. No law degree (thank god), but I do spend WAY too much time dealing with lawyers, gov't regs, and legalese. The degrees I do have are from OHIO STATE.GO BUCKS!!!! WHO DEY!!!!
  7. For purposes of this bill, Neteller is a bank, or more precisely part of a "designated payment system".And in this bill, a "designated payment system" means anything the Attorney General and Federal Reserve determine "could be utilized in connection with ... any restricted transaction". [Para 5362 (3)]The fact that Neteller also facilitates other legal transactions is irrelevant. If they work with gambling sites, US banks will not be able to transfer to them under this bill.
  8. It appears the answer is yes. The bill expressly prohibits transfers (which includes checks and MOs BTW) to "Internet gambling sites or the banks which represent such sites" [sec 802, para 5361 (a) (2)].That said, I don't know if you need to yank your bankroll, since the bill only prohinits transfer TO these sites, not from.
  9. Arguing that poker is a game of skill will not work. From the text of the bill ... defintion of bet or wager = "... or a game SUBJECT to chance..."You can argue that, in the long term, poker is a game of skill but you will never be able to argue that poker isn't SUBJECT to chance.Even worse, the bill not only prohibits transfers to gambling sites but also "... the banks that represent such sites." meaning Neteller is probably out too.
  10. Why would you try to pin this spam on Daniel?
  11. Are you getting the letter AND the number? or are you just getting a number INSTEAD of the letter. If it's the former, probably time for a new keyboard. If it's the latter, the Num Lock is probably on. The can be tricky to find on laptops and sometimes get turned on by accident. One way to tell for sure is to plug in an external keyboard (PS2 if the laptop has a port, USB if it doesn't). If you get the same result, it's not your keyboard, it's either a Num Lock or an OS software error. If the external keyboard works OK, new keyboard time.
  12. Personally, I have no opinion of Gold one way or the other ... but the "I needed time to set up a corporation for tax purposes" excuse for not paying Leyser is complete, total, and utter BS.Players sell shares of themselves all the time and Harrah's, like every other casino in the world has the proper IRS forms on hand to distribute winnings as Gold requests. With the stroke of a pen, Gold could direct Harrah's to pay $6 mil to Leyser with absolutely no tax implications for himself; then he would have all the time in the world to set up whatever entity he wanted to receive his half. At the end
  13. 1) Neither is inherently better than the other. Dell and Samsung both make decent monitors; actually Samsung makes a decent monitor and Dell has monitors built for them. Fact is there are only a few manufacturers of LCD screens. LG makes the vast majority of the world's LCD screens.Dell just buys them, and then mounts them in their cases with their controls.2) The optimal resolution for multitabling depends somewhat on the poker room. The Samsung has more space side to side, but the Dell has more resolution top to bottom so it's pretty much a wash.3) Contrast ratio is the difference betwee
  14. You need to add a video card and TV tuner that will offload your CPU and main RAM.Most TV tuners have "software decoding" meaning your CPU does the work. I have a computer shop where I build a sweet HTPC that does TV, DVR, Sling box etc and I use the Haupaugge PVR cards specifically because they use "hardware decoding"; meaning they have their own decoding chip onboard. Your CPU doesn't have to do a thing to manage your TV signal. The Hauppauge PVR cards start at about $100.Also add a video card with dual outputs with as much RAM as you can afford. If your machine has an AGP slot, you can get
  15. Fri Aug 04 22:22:00 PDT 2006Negreanu Cant Catch OutsChris Truong is all in against Daniel Negreanu. Truong has under $20,000 so Kid Poker has him covered. Negreanu has A10 and Truong has 33. The flop comes Q66 giving Negreanu three more outs. The turn is the J giving Negreanu a straight draw. But the 9 on the river is a blank, and Negreanu is down to around $20,000.
