Was thinking of buying the Phil Hellmuth's book on Texas Holdem as i heard it was nearly identical to play like the pros (obviously more focused on holdem) with a few additional chapters. Anyone read the both of them and tell me if the book on texas holdem is a better buy than play like the pros?Cheers!

Recently got this book as it was the only one available from the local bookstore. I read and thought that overall it was ok. The book didnt contain anything that would be majorly helpful to an experienced poker player and tended to teach the basics of the game to the reader such as giving definitions of what a "smooth call" is lol. My advice to anyone thinking about getting this book is that if poker lingo aint up to scratch and you find yourself out of place at a poker table then this is the book for you otherwise find another book.Anyone else get this book and have similar thoughts?

Your right it is far easier to go on tilt on the net but thats mainly cause of the opposition u play against. Im a regular on expekt poker site ( full of swedish wannabies) and the amount of players that will call an all in chasing a gut straight is unreal! These guys dont have a clue how to play poker and be some weird factor they profit from it! I blame Gus Hanson!

Why not move in you might not get a another hand of any quality for a while and with the blinds that big you have to take a stand somewhere, and what if he has ak suited yor still favourite by a small margin. You can go through a tournament with out goin in on a coin flip. If u win your a big factor and can cruise it to the money!
