nl he tourney hand (pair + gutshot + flush draw)

I have to vote for a fold there. The K was a horrible card for you even if it did give you the straight, flush and royal flush draw. You could've easily been against Q-J or two spades with all these marginal just-calls. You also weren't guarenteed that MP1 was folding, and if the river was a blank you were stuck with your third pair / Jack kicker.I could see MP2 having K-J and trying to scare out any weak aces or the big 4-flush draw, or Q-J and having the made hand (possibly with a re-draw to the flush?) At the absolute worst, maybe Q-8. Not totally out of the question for someone to call w -
I had a good weekend, placed high in a MTT, won a couple 10+1 SNGs, all of this after about a $100 downswing (I know it's better to think in terms of BB, but I play more SNGs and MTTs than ring games). One hand that made me snap for about an hour and actually say out loud to no one in particular "I'm never going to win a significant hand again" was having my flopped top full house outdrawn to quads on the turn (my 4-4 vs. J-2, flop of 4-2-2.).It's cliched, but it's the wrong attitude. Took a couple of wins and good beats for me to realize it. I would've been out in the MTT that I took 3rd/76th

Usually depends on how well I'm running. I'll generally alternate between the two giving equal time to each. If I don't have an hour to spare I'll play in a cash game. I do make most of my money from SNGs though, I tend to give more away in cash games. SNGs can be boring for the first 4 levels, but cash games can be overall boring for hours.

I meant A-K's "quick call" was to deter the button from calling. Just because he made a standard raise doesn't mean he was in the hand to a showdown, and having someone come over the top of you and then having THAT move called immediately would make me think twice about calling with anything less than Jacks (that's why I called it a borderline hand in this situation in my opinion.) You're right, the button had to assume that he had to dodge some cards but coinflips are what win tournaments. I do agree that it was a slightly risky play given the circumstances but in the end it was a correct cal

I know it's easy to say this now when I know what happened, but with having even chip stacks, someone who comes over the top of a normal raise by that much like you did with 9-9, has a hand they want to protect like a middle pair. I probably would've put you on something like that or an A-K. This is a play influenced a lot by position. (1) Your re-raise was ok, though a bit much. You're taking the chance that you're ahead of the button and that the BB has a random hand without just seeing where they are. (2) A-K is just assuming that there's no K-K or A-A in the hand (I don't know I could've/
