  1. I think your decision is really based on your objectives. If you just wanted to place "in the money" then you did the right thing, by letting others battle it out for the last money position you just about guaranteed your placing in the money. If your objective was to have the most in chips, you did have a monster hand, and I don't think anyone would really have put you down for calling with it.I personally don't like your whole streak thing. In the long run I don't feel that is a good indicator of success cause the fact of the matter is that sometimes you lose, no matter what cards you have or
  2. Well, what was his stack size compared to yours?Personally I think a stronger bet on the flop may have helped. That way he has to really consider paying for his draw. Maybe he would have layed it down. He probably put you on a big pair, with the bet you made on the flop, I think he had the implied odds to make his call on the flop. (Not sure of the #'s on this)Kudos to you for checking on the river though. One thing I have been learning is to ask myself: What is he/she calling with? Is he/she trapping me. Like I had stated in my original post, this was my first time sitting on a NL game besides a SnG or Tourney, so I didn't want to chance losing $50 on making a mistake, or series of mistakes. That was my logic on it at least.
  4. I can understand that. I feel a lot more confident about my Limit game then NL. Having only played NL in a tournament setting I was not entirely sure if I was doing the right thing, hence the question.

I live in CO and was usually playing the casinos here in 2-5 limit. Was losing a lot of money too.Stopped for a while (e.g a year), and about 4 months ago started playing online. Thanks to a friend I have read a few poker books: Hellmuth's Play Poker Like the Pros, Caro's Book of Poker Tells, Caro's Fundemental Secrets of Poker, and currently reading Psychology of Poker.I am currently playing on UB, an
