i would have folded preflop. You won't flop enough sets to get paid with that raise unless you're planning on making $60 when you hit your set.

agree with others, result=split pot?

I've been working on a new site that allows users to create a customized site for their poker clubs. The site includes a message board for their club, member profiles, shout outs, and a bunch of other things. I'm opening the site out for beta testing to get some feedback and to polish it up before i fully release it to everyone. Anyone, if anybody wants to get a site setup for their group of friends or club you can PM me. You must have at least 3 people to set up a site.

it might be the types of plays that are made at the two limits are very different. Are you playing limit or no limit? Could also been mental. It doesn't seem like you're comfortable at .25/.50.

I have a pretty new website that has snippets from blogs featured on the homepage. I'm looking for people that update their blogs frequently that would like to have featured on my site. PM me if you're interested. Also, anybody that has written, or would like to write a poker article (not basic hold'em strategy) or a good poker story and would like it featured can PM me.

out of curiosity, what are your preflop standards for 6 person tables? I think 6 person limit is my worst game. I think i play too tight.
-
I think that amount is about right. There are two ways to go about keeping your preflop raises a mysetry. You can always raise the same amount in the same positions, or you can always raise random amounts regardless of your hole cards. Both styles will keep your opponents guessing, it's up to which one you'd prefer. I like raising random amounts to spice things up.

k-q in a tight/agg game, did i play this right?

preflop: I wouldn't raise with KQ in that position. I like raising Co or button with KQ.Flop: Gotta bet it. You've got 2 pair, very unlikely you're beat, bet while you have the best hand.Turn: Good play here, you bet, nothing to add.River: Well... I think I would check here. There's a possibility he would check 2 pair or trips here due to the flush coming up. I was putting him on AA this entire time. HOwever, due to the fact that you're posting this hand I'm guessing he didn't have AA and that you won the hand and you wish you had bet the river. But I still think it's good to check here. All t -
The only thing I don't like here is your play on the flop, the rest is good. You don't want to bet the turn, you have pot odds to call the turn, not raise the turn. Now, as for the flop, you say you called because you thought he only had high cards, well that's all that you have, and if you're counting on the backdoor flush, forget it came up, you should be folding. With four other people in and all calling you're probably beat. Even if he had two high cards (I would put him on a high pair, I don't know why you'd bet out at four other players with just high cards), but let's say he has two hig

i don't like doing anything too fancy early on in a tournament. I'd just play it straight. Bet 2/3 the pot, if he bets back at you then it's time to evaluate him, but he'll probably fold if he's got nothing and its early.

i agree with other replies. If he had something really good, he'd probably slow play it, not scare you off right away.

Well, when the board is paired, and your read tells you he doesn't have the third, and you have one overcard and a straight draw, then it's a close call. It's not always so obvious what to do.
-
well.. you made the right play and the right call. That's all you can do :!:

First hand, I'd say get out on the turn. With two raises and the other guy just calling, you've gotta think someone has something better than a pair. Usually the turn is when most people show their true strength. Although looks like UTG waited until river. But DEFINTELY fold on the river. UTG has you all.
