You should call the fire department, suited, because you just got burned by an award winning screenwriter.

But legal minutia aside...

Its not legal minutiae. He was operating an unlicensed poker room from US soil, in the one jurisdiction that would take it most seriously. He clearly wasn't the developer, but do you think Russ Hamilton coded UB? That's how it works. You have an idea, you pay the techies to make it happen.

I think it's all bullshit regulation, but it was not a smart thing to do. "Bitcoin Idealists" are all this way. They have huge narratives and theories and ideals until OOPS! They collide with reality and it bites them in the ass. Roger Ver renounced his US citizenship and is now mad that he can't get a Visa to return (BECAUSE ACCORDING TO PERFECT-WORLD LEGAL THEORY, MUH LAWYER SAID IT WOULDN"T BE A PROBLEM!!!... even though its a totally discretionary process and he may be a formally prohibited-from-entry party anyway under the Aggravated Felony provisions, since he has an old conviction involving explosives)

I feel for the guy. I really do, but play stupid games... He should just accept that the US is in his rear-view and move forward. The smartest thing he did was leave before the indictment came down. Avoid international travel to places that will execute an INTERPOL warrant on behalf of the US and that's that Or, go face the music, take your 6 months of anal rape and move on with your life that way as a US citizen.

Also, based upon this thread and the fact that someone has failed as a writer, I have decided to become a writer.

Just like that.

And I'll be successful after having decided to take it up on a lark, because of course I will.

So funny.

Sorry, guy who probably worked at it for a long time.

I guess I'm guilty of following the screenwriting rule of never worrying about spelling or grammar when writing. That can usually be fixed when proofreading. But I guess the grammar and spelling police will always be lurking online.

Look man, I'm the last person to give a shit about prescriptive grammar and usage, I truly am. But any chance I get to make a David Williams foot fetish reference, I'm going to take it.

Of course the legendary Stardust poker room is defunct as is unfortunately the hotel and casino. Actually there was nothing special about the look of the room but it was "the" place to play for high stakes poker in Vegas during the mid-1980's. Johnny Chan honed his skills in that room and eventually won the WSOP main event in 1987, 1988, and came in 2nd to a young Phil Hellmuth in 1989. A remarkable feet that will probably never be repeated. Yes, the Stardust poker room will always hold a special place in the heart of the players of that era.

David Williams is another man that has an appreciation for remarkable feet.

I used to be a charter member of this great online poker room back in the day, Full Contact Poker. It was a pokerroom.com skin, and gosh were the games juicy. What ever happened to that site?
