  1. I love poker for the competition of it. Knowing that I mentally outfenced someone is a big rush for me. This is why I often like to play against people better than me, so that I can learn (this is somewhat odd from a financial standpoint, I know). I love to think about the game as well, and read books on it.
  2. so what did you have and how did the hand play out?
  3. bet $50 or so, this tests you, doesn't give you odds to call on a flush draw. Based on the way you played it, you aren't going to have j-9 or something like that unless you read me very badly. It also leaves me with enough to play in case you re-raise me and I decide I'm beat. However, I don't think that you do, so like I said, my verdict is bet $50."I'm kinda new around here, so if I am way out of my depth, be gentle. "Same here.
  4. Its not that I'm being PC. Its only that I just saw American History X.
  5. I'm rooting for him to recover and get back to the table as well. He seems like a very skilled poker player from what I've seen (admittedly not a lot). It grosses me out how people always make jokes about prison rape. You think prison rape is funny? Maybe you need some rehabilitation.
  6. I think that depending on the texture of the game, an early position limp with Aces can be a very profitable move. But, like I said, it depends on the texture of the game. You can occasionally limp with Aces in early position if you are in an aggressive NL game. In my experience this can make a lot of money. But it is an incorrect move if you are in a passive game with people seeing a lot of multiway flops. Also when I limp and there is a raise behind me, I generally re-raise rather than smooth call, but this is probably because my post-flop game is weak.
