  1. Just picked this book up and it is quite good. The author details hands that he has played on the Pro Poker Tour and offers some really valuable insight into the thought processes that go into making decisions. It reminded me of Phil Gordon's dvd but in book form.
  2. Take the lead in betting on the flop and/or turn. You don't find out any information by calling. You're better off raising on the flop to find out where you stand. It will save you money in the long run. If there were two hearts on the flop, then maybe I just call.
  3. Try reading Tournament Poker and the Art of War. The book takes The Art of War and applies it to no limit hold 'em tournaments.
  4. I just finished reading it and really liked it. Antonio gives great advice on no limit and points out all of the subtle (and not so subtle) differences between limit and no limit. Plus he weaves a lot of examples and some really funny stories throughout.
  5. The Art of War by Sun Tzu or The Prince by Machiavelli. If you want them related to poker, then read both Tournament Poker and the Art of War and Machiavellian Poker Strategy. The author does a great job translating the works to poker.
  6. WPT: In the Money by Antonio Esfandiari just came out and I read it this past weekend. Great book for no limit cash games.
  7. I read it and thought it was well worthwhile. It's really made me think about how to use my chips effectively. I have corrected some flaws and I have seen a big improvement in my tournament play since reading.

  9. I recently re-read Doyle's NL section and it seems somewhat similar to Daniel's style of play. I also thought that Tournament Poker and The Art of War had a lot of philosophies that seem in-line with some of the things Daniel does during tournaments.
  10. For limit hold 'em cash games, I would recommend Jennifer Harman's section in Super System 2. For No Limit Tournaments, I would suggest both Harrington on Hold 'em and Tournament Poker and The Art of War. Good Luck!!
