hollywood park $100nl, 33bb and $5 rake???
Cuatro replied to elcapitan19's topic in General Poker Forum
before writing it off completely, i really think you guys should try the game for a few weeks. you're right that on the surface it looks like a shi* game that can't be beat. but when you mix in the players that actually play this game at this level, a solid player will make a lot of money consistantly here.i played the $100 tables at commerce for 1 week before turning a $2000 profit and jumping up to the $200 game. remember that while $100 is the buy in, once you post a few wins you have everyone outstacked. once you get on a run where you have $300-$400 in front of you, you can really ta -

i play the $200 buy in game at commerce all the time (their $100 game is exactly the same as the one you described). at least at the $200 game the blinds are 3/5 with a max $5 rake ($1jpot $4rake...though the rake is taken based on how many people see a flop. i think if 5 or more see a flop --which happens nearly every hand-- they rake the max). if you bust out you can actually buy back in for $100 for one hand and immediately rebuy for another $200 on the next hand giving you a fairly decent stack to work with. it's a fairly obscure rule that no-one really takes advantage of.i highly reco -
yeah i think you're exactly right. it seems like everyone is affraid of this superbot that can beat any mortal it encounters. but poker isn't like chess. choices in poker can't be graphed out on a gridded game board. bluffs and the human element are not easy to account for. but consider the possibility that there is a bot out there that plays very tight and only against a full or near full table. do you think it's possible this bot may win 1 pot an hour bigger than the blinds it has spent? if it averages just $1 per hour then the bot programmer has a potential gold mine -- their own per

it actually COULD be a bot. i've seen a bot in action before and one thing i was told was if there's one small error in the betting or raising code, the bot simply will never lead out and bet or raise. it will only call a bet with the nuts and it will check EVERYTHING. that would explain it not betting its strong hands. but playing 65% pre flop...that leads me to think it's just a terrible player. bots are typically rocks that play below 20%.if it is a bot with an error in the betting and raising code, you can bet that the owner has found it by now and fixed it.

why only 1.5 for the A and Q?the idea here is that when you hit your overcard to pair up, your hand still may be behind against a flopped 2 pair or set. (the poster assumes 50% of the time your out will still leave you behind. that's the reason you only count each overcard out as 50% of an out...that's really debatable though. i think more often than not your overcard is probably good. meaning it may be better to give those overcard outs a little more weight. of course, knowing your players and your hand reading ability will give you a better idea of how to apply partial outs).i always like

the monte carlo offers 2 n/l games. one is a $300-500 buy in. a lot of the locals play here which leaves the $100-200 buy in game full of fishies. the blinds are 1-2 leaving you with a very deep stack. their room is small, but i've found it to be one of the friendliest, nicest rooms on the strip. expect to wait if you get there in the early evenings on friday & saturday.2/4 in vegas is pretty wild in my experience. winning or losing has very little to do with making correct decisions. so many people go in with anything and stay till the river that you're bound to get drawn out on. -
I was fortunate enough to get a seat in the audience at the Commerce Casino PPT Invitational where Daniel, Erik Lindgren, Chris Bigler, Asher Derei, Dennis Waterman, and Allen Krell faced off at the final table. The top 3 places paid. Krell went home within minutes of the start of the event and it was clear that Asher and Dennis, the two shortest stacks were just trying to sneak into the money. Both played very tight and went home 5th and 4th. Then the real excitement began. --back to the topic. The biggest hand of the whole event was when daniel and erik faced off while bigler sat back and
