  1. I don't think it's smart to bet the pot simply for value. Any observant player will pick up that you are betting the pot when you are betting for value. A consistent 2/3rd continuation bet disguises it better. Also, I think hero here was trying to make a defensive bet on the river. It wasn't the appropriate time for it, but I don't think his thinking was totally flawed. He made the decision that he thought he had the best hand, but knew he didn't want to call a big river bet, so he bet hoping he'd get a call and not a raise. Like I said, not the appropriate time and not done correctly, but
  2. The thing about your push is that he has the odds to call with no matter what he has because he already put enough money in the pot to give him 2:1 to call when you push. And lets say he pushed with A2, he's still ahead of your JT. Best case he pushed with a pair lower than TT and you are a flip. With the stack you have, I think your best bet is to wait until you have at least some folding equity, i.e. you're the first in the pot. ANYTHING decent, any Ace, any suited connector, anything that isn't likely to be dominated by a caller. Of course you can't wait more than a few hands to push so
  3. Absolutely right. First pays out so much more than second that you should go for first. Even if occassionally being aggressive makes you go out in 3rd. Be aggressive without fear! Steal their blinds and antes (assuming they represent a high percentage of your stack this deep in the SnG.) First is the only way to really make a profit at these games.
  4. I agree. This hand is definitely foldable preflop both before and after the raise. Sure, in NLHE a suited ace might be OK to limp with, then OK to see a flop with if there are a lot of players, but in PLO, you aren't going to get paid off when you hit your flush b/c with so many ppl seeing the flop everyone will know someone probably has a flush and there are so few other ways the board can hit your hand. I might take a look at good PLO starting hands. It's a real tough game to learn.
  5. Hey man. There is a lot you can learn from this hand. My comments are in super script next to your moves. CO ($13.85)Button ($10.43)SB ($5.12)Hero (BB) ($5)UTG ($9.69)MP1 ($4.69)MP2 ($16.05)Preflop: Hero is BB with K, AUTG calls $0.05, 5 folds, Hero bets $0.20, UTG calls $0.15 You did fine here. Didn't let him limp into the pot with your hand that definitely should be ahead.Flop: ($0.42) J, K, 9 (2 players)Hero bets $0.28, UTG calls $0.28 Unlike the others, I think your bet amount here was fine. Just about 2/3rd of the pot is good and standard. Sure, this board is scary as hell, but any
