Full Contact Poker is Daniel's baby and we're all incredibly lucky to have benefitted from his inspiration and generousity of spirit in establishing and maintaining this place for these years. (Please name the other poker Pros who've similarly invested so much time, energy, and money for the sake of the kind of players you'll find here.)And as the guiding force, you'll have to admit he's done a pretty good job as evidenced by the number of us that keep coming back.So maybe consider that he might know a little something about poker and trust his judgement in these matters before shooting off

From Phil Helmuth's column:(http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_magazine/archives/?a_id=13374&m_id=68)"...A group of players, who shall remain nameless, bet $10,000 a “prop” while they played $80-$160 hold’em at UltimateBet! A “prop” occurs when someone’s three or more preselected cards hit the board. For example, my prop cards might be J-9-4. If three of them hit the board (J-9-9, J-9-4, J-J-4, and so on) at any point in a hold’em hand, I collect $10,000. If four hit the board, I collect $25,000. And if five hit the board, I collect $50,000. The key to the game, however, is that sometimes pla

To understand and appreciate the Bill Fillmaff experience in its entirety, you have to have seen the Phil Hellmuth instructional videos.I checked out two from Netflix last year. The first one was so appalling that I just sent back the second unwatched. You could tangibly feel yourself becoming a lousier player the longer you were exposed. To say that his moronic advice is targeted to beginners insults anyone who's ever tried to begin anything. If you'd like to learn texas hold-em and have suffered massive head trauma--this is the video for you. What Fillmaff really gets right is the awful set

I posted this a minute ago on the "my thoughts on tuan le/hasan habib incident" thread...but it's such a good read I figured it deserved a life of it's own. It's a relevant portion of a column by "Roy the 'Boy" over at Ladbrokes. He's a British player and one of my favorite poker writers. As such, he has a refreshing perspective and his the columns are smart and often hilarious. Check him out if you haven't already. Here's a good example:Play the GameReturning to televised poker, have you ever thought where we would be if the game were suddenly besieged by match fixing allegations? You know, l

Stumbled across this gushing review of Noble Poker. You'll notice that the screenshot he uses is possibly much more indicative of the type of player you're likely to face there than the Noble Poker screenshot on their site.

what's the best online site for a mac user?
robdylan replied to KillerPanda's topic in General Poker Forum
Well, at this point, you can choose between pokerroom.com or the pokerroom skin, hollywoodpoker.com.I have a mac and a PC and vastly prefer the pokerroom/HP software over any of the PC sites.Pokerroom has 40% deposit bonus and mega-freerolls. Hollywoodpoker has some smaller freerolls and they host their own tournaments, which are fantastic. Good players and friendly table talk. And crazy but true, "celebrities" really do play there.Your money is quite safe at either. I've cashed out thousands at both (neteller) with nary a problem.G'luck... -

Found this funny send-up of Phil Hellmuth and his poker videos linked at Guiness and Poker. It's the homepage for "Bill Fillmaff's Secret System." If you've ever seen any of Phil Hellmuth's instructional tapes you'll have a laugh watching the "tutorial video" here. They manage to recreate the self-importance, shoddy preparation, and cut-rate production values of the original--right down to the cheesey graphics. There's also a mock interview with "Worldwide Poker League Champion Bill Fillmaff" that ends with this exchange:Q: OK, what are your thoughts regarding 2004 Player of the Year Danny... Literally while reading your post just now, I won a $45 pot on Pokerroom with that exact flop, A-Q-10. I called the all-in from 10-10 with KJ.Your Slick would have been toast...

I'm not a big fan of bad beat posts, but acolytes of the mystic power of...The Hammer!...will here find another gospel to attest to the merciless force that is...The Hammer!...So I'm down to my last gasp in this Pokerroom qualifier for their big $1000 entry Grand tourney. Top 20 move...After 3 hours, I am the 21st and last out of 544 entries. Blinds are $3000/$6000, so I'm forced all-in with my last $3,096 to pay the big blind.I was resigned to suffer the worst possible finish in tournament play...I closed my eyes as the cards were dealt. I steeled myself to hazard a glance and realized tha
