  1. Don't really care if anyone reads this, just feel like venting. Pacific poker short handed games must be some of the craziest games. I jumped up like $100 in 2/4 pretty fast, and dropped $120 just as fast. I think I tilted away probably $30-$40 of those dollars, but still. The hand of the night has to go to this one guy. I honestly do not know what to think. It wasn't that bad of a beat cause I did not lose much. I raised preflop with K8 (varying it up a little). He calls. Flop comes KQ6 (suite is not important). So I hit top pair. I don't think I saw this guy fold the fl
  2. the one I mentioned is CRT, might be able to get a cheaper 19 LCD in mid 200s at someplaces now .Although probably can get a used CRT monitor cheaper than new.
  3. you can get a cheap new 19 inch monitor for probably $170 (envision). I picked mine up on sale at staples for $130. 1600x1200 text isn't the clearest, but good enough for poker.
  4. I hate omaha high low. I think I have somewhat of a clue, but just have had a long rough streak. Then again I might not have a clue. Just seems like whenever I have nut flush/straight on turn, the board will pair on river giving someone a boat, or today, had the KKK/33 full house, and the case 3 came to give the guy quads. It probably is just a bad streak, I've had success in the past. Just think I like holdem better.

  6. Your right, good things do happen. Just won a nice $25 on a $5.50 pacific sit and go. Puts a nice cap on the day and gets me back to even for the day.
  7. I only had $30 left on pacific. Playing .25/.50 omaha hi/low was supposed to be going down in limits and playing an easier game, and giving me a break from my rough streak playing higher (.5/1 and 1/2) limit. Losing the $10 wasn't a big deal at all, more of a slap in the face during this rough streak.
  8. I haven't played in a while due to a rough streak. But today I thought some pacific .25/.50 omaha hi/lo was just what was needed to break that streak. Well, needless to say, twice I had the best hand on the turn with no possible low hand on some nice pots, and twice the board paired 9s to hit both of the 4 out draws to a full house. Needless to say my $30 dropped to $20 (the two pots were worth $22 total). So after a short time, I decided to take a break, thinking maybe this wasn't the game to get me back on track. Now I am taking out my frustration on a nice $2.50 10 person limit p
  9. Interesting. I never had much more than mild success at UB (although I did have a lot of success at now reworked desterpoker.com). I did have a good run at pokerstars, but nothin compares to the success I have had at pacific playing .5/1 and 1/2. I guess my game adapted slowly to get used to pacific, and I really stunk up the joint when I went to play pokerstars again with their 27% people seeing the flop. But I have had some big swings at pacific though, but my guess is if you keep playing long term, you'll be way ahead again, at least at the .5/1 and 1/2 limit level. Although i
  10. I like the $400 call. Either the rock just calls (which he did), or goes all in. If the rock goes all, and the aggressive guys calls or reraises the all in, then guess you fold.I'd probably push after I made my straight, if aggressive guy was on a flush draw, and the rock checked, he'd get a free card. But then again, I am not all that knowledgable about this stuff.
  11. bad luck would be a better turn for hitting top two pair, and the other guy hitting his 2 outer for trips. But just as frustrating as a bad beat.
  12. Yeah, these posts are very helpful, and are appreciated. Doesn't mean smash isn't an ass in some of these responses, but that is ok.
  13. Hey Matt, I'm with you. Your whole point of your initial post was that you did play this interesting hand poorly, (yes it was interesting since your A was dealt face up), and then you say again that you played it wrong. And this clown chooses to totally take one sentence about unlucky beat and argue about that. Yeah, real nice.I think many people come here to have a somewhat friendly place to go and discuss poker with people of varying skill level. Too many times it is not, and that is ok, some people will just be turned away.Oh well, just wanted to say I understand where you
  14. Yeah, it was only $70. Let him have his fun. Who knows, maybe he will keep winning.
