  1. Thanks for the reply. So in general, if the price you're getting to call is better than your odds of hitting your hand, you should definitely call. And if the price you're getting to bet is better than your odds of hitting your hand, you should definitely bet? I know it's a mathematical problem. I just couldn't get my head around it. Say for example you've got a 30% chance of hitting the nuts. You only have a 30% chance of hitting. If it's checked around, I could not decide whether I should just check and see the turn (which is the correct play if the odds of hitting your hand are LOWER
  2. Thanks guys...Just to clarify, this is a Limit game I was referring to. Also, let's assume almost everyone is going to call my 1 dollar bet, so getting overcards to fold is unlikely (this scenario is strikingly realistic in the low-limit games). Again, thanks for the replies so far, they have been insightful.Adam
  3. I have a question for those of you with experience...I understand the idea of pot odds... if I'm on an open-ended straight draw and I have 8 outs, then I have roughly a 15% of hitting one of my cards with the next card. Therefore, I should only call a raise if I'm paying no more than 15% of the pot. Here's my question: Is it better to bet or just check/call if you would be able to bet into a pot well under the price for your odds? For example, in a 1-2 table, if I have ThJh, and the flop shows 8c9s2d. There's 6 people in and the pot is already 12 bucks pre-flop. I'm on the button and it

  5. Hi everyone,This is my first post on this site but I've been observing for awhile. I play mostly .50-1NL and 1-2NL on Party and am looking for someone who'd be willing to swap some selected hands and critique each other. I'm reluctant to post hands here because half of the time the responses aren't even related to the poster's question, and well, that gets tiring after awhile.I'd prefer swapping with someone who plays more NL than limit, and who atleast plays my limits or higher. Send me a PM and I'll pass along my email. Thanks,AdamLas Vegas
