  1. I dipped my toe into HU O8 the other day and crushed 3-4 different people to varying amounts, pretty easy stuff.
  2. No joke, I played at a local cardroom on Saturday and the 4-8 Omaha game (1/2 kill) was by FAR fishier than the 3-6 and the 2-4 HE games. Cleared about $150 in 3 hours without much problem. The O8 section in SS2 is superb.
  3. I'm a relative noob to stud, and I've been able to turn a very consistent profit playing the following starting hands:-any pair (or anything rolled up, obviously!)-any 3-suited hand-any 3 connected cards-3 cards that are 10 or higher. After that it's just a matter of pounding your opponents with the best hand, paying attention to what cards force someone to lead out betting, and calculating your draws, which you can obviously do a lot more accurately than in HE.$70 in 3 hrs. playing 1/2 tonight...
  4. Cappelletti's book on O8B is good, but it helps if you have a good foundation in Omaha Hi first.
  5. Omaha Hi is better. Money playing Omaha is made off people who come directly from HE and apply those principles directly to Omaha, resulting in the obvious mistakes and errors. Typically, people play Hi because it's less confusing, your average HE player has no feel for a split game and will stay away.
  6. The Crypto network has a $1/2 Omaha Hi game that can get REALLY juicy. I've seen 5 straight pots go over 30xBB with people just raising maniacally. Check out PokerPlex, Interpoker, Will Hill, etc.
