  1. just my opinion - i'm re-raising to more than 700 to go preflop. i'll assume that the blinds were 50-100 so the initial raiser put in a standard raise, making it 300 to go. at this point, assuming there were no limpers, the pot stands at 450 (the raiser plus the blinds). stating a re-raise puts the pot now at 750 before your raise and a shut-out re-raise to win the pot right here is acceptable (knowing that if you are just called there is a lot to think about on the flop, i.e., an A or K hitting - though less-so the K - or a set out against you if all unders flop), so i'd make the raise an
  2. holman, thanks for the response:Yes, you are correct in your assumption of his preflop play (limp, then call my raise).I also agree with you that I should have led out the betting after the flop. I realized this as soon as the word "check" left my lips. That is why I decided that simply calling him was not an option. The reason is because no matter what you have, you're only going to get action on that hand if your opponent has a K or the last remaining 7 - which either way you have him beat. That's the problem with hands like that. You either make a lot of money, or none.jamesupdate I just read the reply that said this was a joke.
  4. I think that the answer to this situation is obvious but I'm finding very few people who agree with me. Maybe I'm wrong. Thought I'd get some outside opinions.I'm playing in a small, 15 man tournament. There is a total of 375,000 chips in play. Play is down to 4-handed and I have roughly 65,000 in chips, which is good for third over-all. The two chip leaders both have over 100,000.From the small blind I look down at Kh-Qh. Blinds are 1000-2000 and I make it 6000 to go. The big blind folds and the player to his left calls (this player is low-man at the table with 58,000 in chips). The b
