  1. Its too bad that people who claim to be eduscated on the topic , dont actually do some research and find out that you are exactly right about it being cyclical. They wil blindly follow hypocrites like Al Gore and beleive everything they say , no questions asked. And Africa as a good example of global warming? Hopefully everyone stopped there.I love how everyone jumps on the US and demands we make changes and yet India and China are gigantic polution producers on a sclae that nearly unimaginable. They push laws on us because we are the Big Bad Bully ....please.
  2. Not that I am disagreeing with what you are saying but the catch is the "harm others" part. Some would argue that gambling does harm others (not agreeing) and thats their justification. Sadly in PC world anything we do can be said to harm others. And before anyone starts screaming "religious right" it is the same on the other side of the aisle. They would argue that gambling preys on the less fortunate and thus must bust be squashed. As a side note I think if you took a national poll you would find that most people wouldn't feel that gambling is a freedom that they expect or lose much sleep ove
  3. You do realize that you have Ted Kennedy as a sentor , right?
  4. The WTO cannot override internal laws. Do you really think the member countries are going to risk everythig to defend online gambling? Do you think the US will give a ratsass if they try heavy handed tactics. If a group on parents in the neighborhood came to you and said you have to let your children swear, drink, screw and steal because thats what they let their children do, would you change your rules to accomodate them? Try firing off a threat to Saudi Arabia telling them they have to allow US strippers to dance at public clubs because we have that here and want to export it. Tell China th
  5. Absolutely false. There has almost always been laws dictating certain actions illegal. Whether you do them behind closed doors is irrelevant. Breaking the law is breaking the law.Without a body making laws you have anarchy. As much as you may not like some laws it's just part of life. If you are hellbent on defiance then either accept the fact you might go to jail or become politically active.Being in a republic has nothing to do with having fundamental rights. It means we elect Representatives to speak for us. Your RIGHT is to vote them out of office. You are confusing living in a country wi
  6. If the league were not following the contract it would be a very short lawsuit. Ill think I'll save my sympathy for the average worker who worked for a lifetime for a company and had their pensions and healthcare ripped out from under them when the companies moved overseas. Those are the people that make the world go around and help us with our daily lives.I guarantee you that these football players are getting better care than most and definately better than those who protect our country. Now THERE is soapbox worth jumping on. I'll save my sympathy for pro athletes who choose to pursue highly
  7. Balloon Guy it is enjoyable to have a debate without name calling, lol especially here. Would you agree that that some authors doesn't put his own personal flair into a translation? I was never suggesting that the broad overall message was changed just that through the ages people have been slective about what they wanted in "their " Bible. There was no specific list or accounting of all the books that made up the Bible until the commission of the first Bible by the Emperor Constantine in the 4th Century AD. The books that make up the Authorized King James Bible were chosen by men, not divine
  8. Ill requote :)In 1604, King James of England called a conference at Hampton Court. In attendance were 47 scholars and clerics. The agenda was to organize the production of a bible that would satisfy the needs of all -- the clergy, the king, the common man. An ambitious goal, considering the widely disparate points of view each with a political investment.Aside from everything else you have to aknowledge that anytime something is translated that it is "changed" but thats not what I was pointing out. Anytime a group decided to do what was done with KJB you know that personal views were leaked in
  9. Once again incorrect. It is historical FACT that the bible has been selectively rewritten."In 1604, King James of England called a conference at Hampton Court. In attendance were 47 scholars and clerics. The agenda was to organize the production of a bible that would satisfy the needs of all -- the clergy, the king, the common man. An ambitious goal, considering the widely disparate points of view each with a political investment.""The King James Version first appeared in 1611. Though the frontispiece written by the conference declares it to be a new translation, that's not really what it was
  10. No actually he was right. Its been rewritten and edited based on what the "powers that be" wanted in it. Hence the missing books in the current version of the Bible. Even the current books were passed down and some werent written until decades after the the "death" of Jesus....if that is your beleif. Not sure where your theory of evolution came from but in case you missed the memo shoes arent living creatures thus they have trouble evolving. Any prof. that twisted the theory behind evolution into what you wrote above is being very selective in his interpretations.PS. Daniel whether or not I
  11. Other than wearing the same clothing I am not sure where the blur is you are referring to. Tactics? Techniques? Those just come from real world experience and how to do things without being killed. What may seem like overkill to some would seem like a safety measure if you were the one going into an unknown situation. Does it seem over the top if you havent been in that situation? YES. If you have ever been in the position of walking into a room blindly where there may be someone willing to shoot then you understand. All you have to do is look at the stats of police killed in traffic stops to
  12. Bush was relected to President of Texas? Damn I havent been watching the news lately but I had no idea.I mean I knew he hated black people and was having a listening device planted in every house as well as chips placed in all newborns so we could tracktheir movements, but THIS!Hmmm. Back to CNN i guess.
  13. You asked for them you got them.http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/11/19/ran...t.ap/index.htmlWell at least poker is safe now.
