I don't know about the debate of whether it's "poker" or not to make a big overbet like that, but I personally wouldn't want to let Daniel see a cheap flop with 4-6 clubs or 3-5 of hearts when I am holding KK and the flop brings two to a flush or gives him a straight draw, two pair or trips. If you know you aren't as talented as your opposition...taking down the pot preflop when you hold a monster isn't a bad strategy IMO. The bet size was ridiculous...but I think raising enough to make it incorrect to call is fine in that spot. Of course the pros don't like it...they want to play every ama

What Goes Thru Your Mind During A Bad Session
Chuck replied to AcesUp46's topic in General Poker Forum
perfect example yesterday...playing 4-8 limit at the local B&M casino and variance is beating me upside the head with a softball bat consistently. I just keep thinking about the percentages after the turn and how crushed i had this or that guy (or girl) before the river and I decide to just keep playing through this. So I get stuck a big number for me and keep fighting until some time later i get on a heater and win 10+ kill pots in a row going from about $100 in front of me to $500 in a half hour. After that I just played solid and put the $500 in my pocket...went home and got some much n -
If it's like a $10 pot with not much more than the blinds in it..then nothing...$30 to about $50 or $60 I tip a buck ...a monster $100 - $200 pot in 4-8 kill (yeah...they happen in fishville) i tip about $3 to $5. Also...some dealers are friendlier than others...and some are just annoying and think they are poker instructors....if a dealer annoys me...he or she gets nuttin for that half hour...if they are friendly and nice...see above

I've used the old "call the short stacks all in with 87 suited" a few times to good effect in SNG's ....My thinking is you most likely have 2 live cards and also if you need to crack a big pair what better to have than middle suited connectors? I wouldn't put my tournament life on the line with it..but he had an 8 to 1 chip advantage..easy call

First of all, I agree that in the overview this lawsuit will be bad for poker...BUTI think it is ridiculous to look at any issue and say "lets forget who is right or wrong here" or "the WPT hasn't done anything yet...so what's the big deal?" or "The players forget who made them poker celebrities..namely the WPT"I will tell you what the big deal is IMHO:1. Right is right and wrong is wrong...period and never the twain shall meet. In this case handing over blanket rights to the use of your name and likeness etc for use in any way the WPT chooses now and in perpetuity if you are a big name player
