That's a joke right?
-
As I said, I don't think it's a big deal. But given that Daniel mentions things like reading (and agreeing with) Michael Moore, I think this is something he'd be worried about. The terrorist=arab perception causes far more harm, in my opinion, than the actual acts of terrorism do. I'm not a political correct nut. I don't really care if you go around calling people gay, telling racially-based jokes, whatever. But is this particular case, given what's happening in the world right now, I think it behooves people to go the extra mile in avoiding any comments at all that could contribute to the "us

Why not, "Hey Bob, what do you feel like doing today?"Not a big deal, but I wouldn't think you'd want to be contributing to the general American perception of terrorist = arab.

I hadn't heard of that plan, but it's obviously just another tax-dodge for the rich. It means that people who accumulate more money than they spend (the people getting richer) pay less tax while the people who spend nearly everything they make (most of us) pay more tax. I know Americans love to be duped, but come on.

The flop call is easy. I'd fold preflop. In all likelyhood hitting the A will not help you (unless your opponents are spectacularly loose). You were incredibly fortunate on the flop to get nearly the perfect circumstances. Most of the time you'll be faced with a much more marginal situation, and if you're not careful you'll be trapped for even more.

I think you misunderstand the concept of hours not results. What this means is that you should not make the decision to stop playing based on your results for the session. You should make the decision to stop playing based on:1) How you are playing - your concentration level, your mood, etc2) How your table is / tables are - if you sit down because there are a couple bad players, don't keep playing when the fish leave. Look for better waters. How long your sessions are should depend on your personality. How's your attention-span? Do you start browsing the net after 45 minutes-an hour? Then make

I'm a little late to this party, and this may have been suggested on a previous day, but I think you're in for a very long haul with the rules you've got there. Not moving up until you have 300bb for the new level means you'll only do two levels - 1/2 and 0.5/1.. and most of it will be at 0.5/1. It will take forever. If I were you I'd move up when I had 300bb at the OLD level and move back down if I dropped to 200BB. There is some risk of ruin here, but it is moderate, especially at the lower limits where your earn rate should be quite high.

Fabiano:In games where people are raising WAY too much for their hands, you are a lock to be a winner if you play extremely tight. If you only played AA, KK, QQ, AK I'm very confident you'd be a huge winner in this game as long as people don't figure out what you're doing (and then you start bluffing). It is boring to play this way, and you can probably find other more marginal spots to make money, but if you just want a safe way of making some dollars, supertight is the way to go in this type of game.

Raising here with 66 is very bad.I think you played the rest of the hand fine. I wouldn't get too worried about JT here.. if they have it they have it. You have multiple opponents putting lots of bets into the pot.. you just want to keep pumping as much as possible because most of the time you're going to win.

I was talking to the original poster, not you, sorry. Sure we all steam sometimes, but this guy is defending it as a valid overall strategy. -
crushed by another two outer, did i do wrong?

Well your first mistake was not folding preflop. On the flop you probably want to check-raise here. The preflop raiser usually will continue to bet on the flop no matter what if it's checked to him, so you could have checkraised the field on the flop. It's very rare that you want to slowplay past the turn, as on the river draws will no longer pay you off. For instance, someone with KQ or 89 may give you another bet on the turn, but they will just fold on the river. If your opponent has a strong hand like AA-QQ you could also get into a raising battle which is obviously great for you.Ideally you' -
The Poker Mountain banner on the frontpage here says 100% matching bonus up to $500, but I can't find any mention of this on their site. Does anyone know the details, if it's real, and how many hands about you have to play (or what their forumula is)?

Say I come up with some rationalization saying that I can make money by spitting in people''s faces while I walk down the street? Are you going to give me a, "Good job, way to go!"? Well, maybe you would, but most people wouldn't. I want to maintain some class in whatever I do. Whatever your rationalization, being a jerk is being a jerk. -
I play on Paradise a bit, just the heads-up limit cash games and the heads-up no-limit tournaments. I play there because most sites don't offer heads-up limit, especially with the blinds done correctly. However, there are two major problems with Paradise that I've noticed:1) The software seems slow / resource hungry.2) The hand history request is annoying and slow, so working with PokerTracker is difficult, especially as you can only request 100 hands at a time.
