They are frustrating. I seem to run into them more on Weekend afternoons. They are OK around 200 where you can take advantage and build a stack, but at 1000 it becomes lucky draw poker.A couple hands before this one, I was over 5K but decided to call with KQ and lost the race to A6.I called on this one too, and lost to AQ. Wasn't sure if, with these type of players in a SNG, it might be better to wait for the money at this stage. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks guys, wish I had you with me at the moment (except Dhall901 ) I pushed. He had K9. 9 came on flop and I cussed at the lucky punk (to myself). Lost another race a couple hands later to finish 3rd and cussed some more. After re-evaluating it, I came to the fold conclusion but thought maybe it was just because of the result. All the signs pointed to fold, should have done it. My read of my image was right, I was going to be called by just about any hand. I was lucky it was just K9.Good luck.

Folded most other hands and folded limps when pressured.Hero’s image: LAG/Maniac. Ever since we were at 5 players, took down most blinds, limpers, and small raisers with big raises and pushes. Folded a few rags for good measure. Called $900 all in by bubble player with J9 and sucked it out v. AT.Hero’s goal

Thanks for insightfull response. This gives me some new perspectives to look at, and you are probably right on the tight/passive.The limping is probably a miss-application of a discussion on "learning from the pro's" show. They advocated seeing the flop with minimal investment with small/medium PP. However, they were most likely talking about full tables and better stack situations, and minimal doesn't have to mean limp - per your point - I can still bet for information.I've been playing for only 3 months, and have read too many books to keep all of this stuff straight. It'll take time but

Mods - sorry for initially posting this in the wrong place. Can't figure out how to get rid of that one.Last night, I'm playing a $20 SNG 5 player (start with 1K chips). I get a tight - tight aggressive image and go up a bit, then down to 800 on a tough hand. Many hands of non-play and a small win, I’m around 800 still. Then I hit the nut flush and set up the chip leader for a large raise on the river. He does so and I go all in, he calls, and I double up.More tight playing puts me up to chip lead at 2000 over time. Blinds are now 50/100 with 4 players left. I get pocket 77 and limp in

Hi all, I've been reading this blog for a while and learned a bit and laughed a bit (and cried a bit), so I thought I'd try a post to ask for adivce on a couple hands last night.I'm new to poker (about 3 months into playing online for $). Always thought it was just luck until a friend talked me into giving it a shot and I won a few bar tournaments. I am now completely fascinated by the complexity and strategy of the game and play to learn more and more. This means I lose money (about $150 per month) because I move up a level once I get fairly consistent and I'm not challenged any longer.
