I'm just calling preflop, I mean this was a good flop for you and you still have to be hesitant. On the flop I like the raise, he could be betting with anything or nothing, but when he re-raises you have to give him credit for something. He's not trying to take the lead away because he's oop, that wouldn't make any sense for him. He could be an incredibly bad player, but you can't bank on that. Much more likely he has queens or even the same AJ as you.I really want to consider folding on the turn, but I'm not sure I can because of the chance he has aj or kj. Alot of people would raise prefl

I like the thought on hand 3. I definitely agree that's a good move, I just am always reluctant to count on 3/6 players to act predictably. Especially in terms of predicting flop play from preflop play. There seem to be alot of maniacs who go crazy with any half decent hand preflop and then play passively after the flop unless they hit hard. Or maybe I'm just imagining it. Either way, I didn't really want to see this checked through. In retrospect I feel like I should have folded to the raise on the river. That or check-call. It's a shitty situation, because if he called on the flop with

You don't know for sure what their hands are, I can't see how you can lay this down. Even face up I'd call this.P.S.: A set is two in the hole one on the board, trips is two on the board one in the hole.

I check fold. You're way behind more than you're ahead, and someone with a flush draw is gonna outdraw you almost a third of the time.

In general I assume that most of the advice in SS1 and SS2 is geared towards higher limit games. -
When A Nl Player Hits The 3/6 Table
jcdoerre replied to DrawingDeadInDM's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
Flop, I like the call, I would like a raise if this were a raised pot, but since it's not I like the call.Turn, I don't love this raise. Were you hoping he'd check to you on the river? I think it's dangerous because you could get three bet here and you have too many possible outs to fold. If you make your hand on the river you can always raise him there anyway, getting in the same number of bets. If you miss you can fold. I just don't like the raise.River, as played, I probably raise. He was playing as if he had a made hand the entire time. I think you're ahead enough here to make a rai -
I probably bet out here, but what do I know.

I'm certainly no expert but here's my thoughts just for fun.UTG could have...KQ - Flop bet makes sense with top pair and OESD.QJs - Flop bet makes sense with two pair.AT, AJ, KJs, KTs, 99, T9s - Flop bet isn't likely with your read, but is possible.QTs, JTs - Flop bet makes sense with two pair.JJ - Lots of people at low limits play timidly with JJ preflop. The turn provides some more info:AJ, KQ, QJs, KJs, 99 - She clearly doesn't have these.AT, KTs, T9s - Still not likely due to your read, but very possible.QTs, JTs - Obviously possible.JJ - Full house definitely raises here.Absent reads, I'd

This is a tough bet to understand. The biggest question to ask is, why didn't he check raise. The answer has to be, he was scared you weren't going to bet. Even if he picked up a flush draw to go with his straight draw he still isn't getting enough equity to bet out, not to mention the threat of a re-raise.The only way he's betting out is if he's trying to steal the pot, but who tries to steal when two aces are on board in a raised pot. Two threes, sure, but two aces, that just doesn't make sense.I think you have to call, but you're probably beat. He was clearly worried about his kicker o

Thinking About Playing Online More Seriously...
jcdoerre replied to crop4cash's topic in General Poker Forum
I haven't really been in a similar spot (and I wouldn't be surprised if no one on this site has), but I can still tell you a bit about how I've started and what I think is a good approach.Note that I'm nowhere near a pro, I'm a student who just enjoys poker and so far has managed to make some money playing. (Knock on wood.)You have a ton of disposable income, so you might be inclined to start at pretty high limits, but if I were you I'd start around where everyone does.Whether you play limit or no limit is really up to you. I started with limit PRIMARILY because there are better books out abo -
House Judiciary Committee On Online Gambling

Man I hope that's true. I also hope money already in an account is safe from this act.Overall, this is just some scary stuff to me. I mean I can't imagine not being able to play poker online. I can understand if they were trying to outlaw casino games online, but poker, bleh. E*Trade is fine though I guess. I wonder if you can buy lottery tickets online, be an interesting experiment.I think these senators forget that the very nature of capitalism is that someone always loses. If every transaction was even you wouldn't have the majority of the wealth in this country concentrated in the to
