I think I feel sorry for him. I guess at least there were a lot of wins and playoff games. Imagine being a fan of the Cleveland Browns and having this memory.

You have my sympathies. There must of been 1000 Emrick "incredibles" by now.

I've learned to just tune him out and run my own commentary in my head. That's the only way I can handle 42 calls of "DRIIIIIIIVE!!!" per game.

2 players 1 team left for me. Iginla deserves a ring and so does Alfredsson. I know as a Leafs fan I can't cheer for Alfredsson but the guy deserves a ring.
The team and the fans that I like to see win is SJ. Of all the relocation and expansion this was one city that embraced hockey from the start.

year 3 really did it. being a horrible team the first two years and then making the playoffs was one thing. Beating the Wings was another. Coming one post away from the Conference Finals was something else. Actually the Wings series was the bigger deal.

I was with two other people in my house last night watching the game and we were all just looking at each other when play continued like "we all saw that go in, right?"
I was at this game actually. A decent atmosphere but the Chicago crowd wasn't very loud to be honest. Maybe the acoustics hurt it. I was cheering on Chicago while wearing my Sharks t-shirt but I was secretly rooting for Detroit.

not a chance they'd go for that. if I was interested in that, and I guess I kinda am, I would probably just pirate SAS, no?
I imagine it costs $1500+

quite a bit more than that. I just thought your work might have it and you could get some work experience using it and that would lead to a better job or at least give you a good skill more jobs use. I'm not sure how you'd go about it on your own.

professional coders have written tools to address big, common, generic problems. smaller clients do stuff like send in reports from their own weird systems, which need to have the sign switched on this line, or this line converted from USD to CAD, or whatever else done to be able to book it in our system. I am the glue that brings together five generic tools to automate a booking process that was previously taking x hours to complete per day.
the truth is, not every company has a use for me. maybe lots of them do and just don't know it.

Do you guys have SAS licenses? you should convince your company to get you trained in SAS. then you become more than just a specialist. they're using you. you use them too.

nice one. I'm not sure why you'd call a timeout less than 2 minutes into the overtime. I get that it's icing but your guys are rested from the intermission.
