  1. This beat happened to me a couple weeks ago in a super loose, super-aggressive 2/5 NL Hold Em game in Austin. To set things up there is probably just about $10,000 on the table and my stack is about $850. So, I pick up two black Jacks in MP and make it 40 to go(about standard for big hands at this table) and get one caller from the button. This is one of those guys that has more money than sense, he probably had 2500 dollars in front of him(most of it purchased) and plays literally every hand. Anyways I felt like I had a pretty good read on him. So, flop comes 10 5 2 rainbow. I bet out 80, and
  2. i know this, the guy is typing this stuff on his cell phone for us action junkie's amusement, I just thought it was kinda funny since supposedly two people have 90% of the chips in play 2 hours in.

  4. wow, chip leader in that tourney is some Full Tilt Entry named Mike Dahl.He has 11,000,000 chips.2nd place has 280,000!
  5. First off, i would recommend only playing suited connectors that can make 4 straights, throw 23s and 34s out the window. Second, I recommend only playing suited connectors in late position(and sparingly at that) and even then you must know how to correctly play them on every street(i.e. pot odds when going for either draw, implied odds etc.) They can be very profitable hands and I like them much more in NL than Limit games as the implied odds are through the roof against people who can't get rid of big pairs. But, you must be confident in your post flop abilities in order to play them in eithe

  7. good question. Personally, I constitute something as being a bad beat if all the money went into the pot, and you are a huge favorite and lose. It's all about who the favorite was when they got it all in there.
  8. Yes, the chick in allinbluff's avatar is smokin, Vida Guerra I believe. But if you want to see a girl that put's Vida to shame, then you need to check this site out(not porn). Simply amazing...http://tabo.aurealsys.com/pub/keyra/
  9. thanks. A big bet would be $10 if you are playing 5/10, 20 if its 10/20 and so in, this term is used in limit. Most poker tracker software should have this stat as a feature.
  10. could someone explain exactly what bb/100 is. thanks
  11. Dude! This is a poker forum. You're kinda creeping me out with ur posts. I know Daniel has stopped replying to your emails with requests like "When should we meet" or "What do you see in that fiancee or yours", but that doesn't mean that we will track him down for you. He's in the Bahamas, which is a safe distance away from you hopefully.
  12. I don't think I'd lay down AA pre-flop if you put a gun to my head... That being said, I just laid down QQ pre-flop last night... <sigh>I can't tell you how many times I've folded QQ pre-flop, if that is an accomplishment for you then you need to re-assess your style of play.
  13. First off if you are playing only limit I would throw away Hellmuth's book and forget everything you learned from it about limit hold'em for the most part. Try reading anything by Ciaffone for limit IMO. Hellmuth is widely known as a much better tournament player who fails in side games. Also, I can't stress enough the need for a sufficient bankroll for the limit you're playing at. 300xBB should be appropriate to affordably manage the swings. Good luck and remember that the cards will start falling the way they're supposed to, good luck.
