Be aware there are some very good players there ... and they play at the goldstrike too ... they mostly populate the 20/30 and up games and the 2/5 NL games. The 1/2 NL tables at the Goldstrike really are good games. Play it super slow for about an hour and watch everyone. Tunica really is the Vegas of the south. Its a great place to play. Comps are outstanding, and there is generally some really good action. I have on a number of occasions on a weekend turned 100 into 1000 at the 1/2 NL tables. 2/5 NL is usually good action as well, but not so many "uneducated" players there. I recommend the GoldStrike for poker ... the poker room is a bit smaller than some of the others but by far the best. Just this past weekend was a long run, but more profitable than long(ive run longer sessions) ... went to Tunica to hit some tournys and see how many tourny chips I could get(goal was the mainevent as cheap as possible) Anyway ... I ended up playing two satelites ... the ring games were just too good. At about 7pm on thurs night I sat down at the 1/2 NL table. Try uping your limits a pace or two, or develop a love for suited connectors and other small "junk" hands. A 3/6 table is basiclly a home game. Its no foldem holdem at its best(2/4 is worse). For a very minimum bet or call a person will draw at anything in the world. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but 3/6 is a waste of time in my opinion(unless you are just looking for some fun, see what happens with the cards poker) You think that playing at a table with a lot of inexperience is a good thing, but its not when all they have to do is call 3 or 6 more dollars to catch perfect. Just wondering if anyone is making it down this weekend?Im heading over to play in the 1000 NL event on Fri for the WPO, and if I bust out early the 500 NL event on Sat for the Grand American thing. Sats and 10/20 table in between and when I should probably be sleeping.About a 7 hour drive from Atl, but Im heading out today and coming back Monday. So atleast its not a over night drive my ass off deal.
