  1. I had a bad beat ust as bad as this one but it wasnt for as much money. I was playing 5c/10c and raised preflop with AA. Flop came down A/Q/2 with 2 spades. I bet one player calls. turn comes an offsuit 5 I bet the guy calls again. River comes an offsuit 3 I bet, guy raises, I reraise he caps it and I call. He turns over A/4!! Hits the runner/runner straight to beat me on the river. Even though it was 5c/10c I was still pissed as hell about it, if it had been any higher limit I probly would have just quit for the day, and gone to chill out. Gone off to smoke some weed, or drink a fe
  2. People in the US as a whole honestly dont care about the NHL. ESPN did a poll where they specifically asked if people cared if the NHL was around, 70% of the country said they didnt care. 3. This was one of the worst bad beats I have ever taken. Im dealt A/A in late early position and raise the pot. Two people call, and the flop comes down A/Q/2 with 2 spades. Im very happy cuz I flopped top set, but a little worried about the spades so I decide to bet out, and get one caller. turn comes a non-spade 3 and I bet out again, he decides to call again. River comes a 5, and I bet out yet again, this time he raises me, I reraise, he caps it and I call. He turns over A/4 offsuit!!! I cant believe I lost to a runner/runner straight with a set of aces. If this was any other limit I
  4. Im not trying to say that Capitalism is 100% perfect, but its the best economic system out there. Yes it may be inherently sinful, but what economic system isnt? It is human nature to try and be better than others at given tasks. It seems to me that your basic argument is that it is wrong to make a profit at the expense of others. You seem to be mainly focusing on poker primarily because this is a poker forum. However, you could goto a forum on any business and come up with reasons why that business is immoral. My main point is that human beings arent perfect and never will be. Just bec
  5. In the United States we believe in Capitalism. Under that kind of economy people have the ability to strive to make as much money as they can. If someone creates a new product that becomes very popular, that person should be entitled to the profits. The business of proffessional sports only pays the athletes so much money because the sport as a whole generates that much money. People are willing to pay billions of dollars each year to watch various forms of entertainment, thus the people who provide that entertainment are entitled to the profits. Poker is exactly the same. To some peop
