  1. I agree that Harrahs is a nicer casino than Trump, but I like Trump's poker room. it has more tables than Harrahs and has the cafe-like waiting area. The 3/6 plays like an online .50/1.00 As a side note, I just completed a group interview for Trump. they're hiring dealers and I start poker dealer school on Monday. My name's Jose. Feel free to say hi if you guys ever go back.
  2. does anyone hear deal in the casino/riverboats around the chicago area? I'm referrring to Harrah's, Trumps, or Hollywood. I was interested in becoming a dealer and was looking for information as to how it is, how much the pay is, and where is a local dealer school around here.thanks.
  3. try www.pokerwire.com and www.pokerpages.com both should be having updates throughout the tourney. play should be starting around 3:30 PT I think.
  4. When you put it into words, I display the same kind of critical thinking skills that are exceeded only by most vertebrates. I thought this line was hilarious. great story, Mister Hand. Good luck to you from another Near Chicagoan.
  5. I agree with you here. Just take a look at someone like Dan Harrington who has a more conventional tight style and uses that to his advantage to make key bluffs. I think another aspect to remember is that during the course of a tourney a good player will change his style based on what the table is "giving him" sort to speak. I remember Phil Ivey saying during the '03 WSOP broadcast that what he is does is adapt to the other players at the table. I think a good style is a changing chameleon-like one. I think it's a mistake to label any of the great players as having a particular style.
  6. one of my favorites is the Borgata WPT from season 2. I like for the battles between Carlos Mortensen and David Oppenheim. Carlos Mortensen is a great player and in my opinion deserves more attention than he gets. David Oppenheim is good player too. Plus I think it's f unny to hear Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten say "bravo, Juan Carolossss" in really bad accents...lol.I didnt care too much for the rest of the players...lol.The PP cruise for a million is pretty good too. Daniel, Edog, Scotty Nguyen, and it was the only season 2 broadcast that showcased Limit Holdem.good stuff
  7. that's the funniest line I've read today. now everytime I watch the show I'll waiting for him to bust out into some hardcore rap. hmm...the show is so bad that might actually be a good thing...
  8. yeah the new episode was really bad. I thought the show was suppose to get better? now they include money laundering? how is that improving the image of poker players? Plus is it just me or was there hardly any poker at all? the show is really a bad drama with poker as the background. really disappointing...
  9. chip counts as of the end of the day....Place Poker Player Chip Count1 Chau Giang $1,406,000 2 Scotty Nguyen $1,210,000 3 Daniel Negreanu $1,173,000 4 John Stolzmann $517,000 5 Mike Mizrachi $515,000 6 Raja Kattamuri $330,000 according to pokerwire.comour boy is in 3rdgo Daniel! way to adapt to "super satellite" playI would say good luck, but we all know it's not about lucky with DN..lol
  10. Limit hold'em is a great game in my opinion. you can definitely use mind games i.e. Check raising, raising for pot odds, value betting and my favorite, the all important Free Card play. those all require as much thinking as NLH. when I first started playing hold'em I hate LH cuz like a lot of newbies I didnt understand it. but once you learn the differences it's a great game. I think it's a shame that people only want to play NLH cuz it's on TV. Also, if any of your friends have read any of Sklansky's books, he refers to Limit not NLH. it's a lot more satisfying in my opinion to check
  11. The finale airs the day of the Superbowl (2/6 I believe) on NBC not Fox. it's gonna be a special 2hour event, not sure on the time. The grand prize I think is a Million dollars, which I never understood because the buy in was 400k. I"ve been watching all the repeats forever too now. I dont like the way there was a big gap between the last original episode airing and the finale airing on the superbowl. it must be at least two months!
