  1. you already have the right answer - seek good advice from the right people - good luck!- w
  2. I dunno about this one - on the turn you have second pair with a less than wonderful kicker. You are also first position. And you are quite possibly facing a limping hand with a J or 9.You might have tried to represent a set of 9s by trying a check raise on the turn, and maybe winning it there (maybe not at these limits...)And if all checked the turn then maybe you try something on the river, but perhaps the J should at least give you pause....But otherwise Smasharoo is right on, I think. Especially the part about this too will pass...- w
  3. PacificPoker (the SOFTEST, MOST LOOSE game on the net, right?) in this situation, make people pay to play - raise when you have the best hand! No cheap or free cards that could beat you.and consider that in a loose game like this, a few callers would have followed you all the way to the river. you lost a lot of bets you should have won.so I bet out with a dollar... (was REALLY hoping someone would think I was trying to buy the pot and re-raise me) a freaking dollar and everyone at the table folds. Happened to me twice today. You were lucky not to be drawn out on... be glad you won what you did
  4. check out Cafe Press:http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/The cool thing is, you do the design, upload it, and they make them to order. They handle all of the order fulfillment. All you have to do is get it done. Andtheir prices are competitive, and quality is good.not affiliated, just a satisfied customer - w
  5. not true - since you are not aware of the contents of your opponents cardsin the moment, you have to use the larger denominators.the good news is that these odds apply to a lot of 'made' hands, but notknowing your opponents hand also means that a paired board shouldcause concern. that said, having a draw to both a straight and aflush on the flop is about as good as it gets...- w
  6. I was playing two tables online once and got EXACTLY the same flopon both tables at the same time - rank, suit, and order. Yes, I dounderstand that it is not impossible for this to randomly occur, but I haven't played two tables since...Had AKo twice to start a live tournament once, the third one a few hands later busted me out of the short stack left by the first two.I have had AA twice in a row live. At a casino I watched the guy acrossfrom me get AA twice in a row, and then I got QQ twice in a row - allfour hands paid well!- w
  7. (no time like the present to make my first post)Bellagio: well run, top notch room - perfect for star gazing if you areinto that sort of thing - can be hard to get into during high demanddays (for example, big sports weekends) - tables are tough, but thereare also plenty of "learners" (I usually come away learning something!)- no smokingMirage: also well run, but not as well as Bellagio (I have seen dealersrequesting fills and setups many times before getting serviced) - the10-20 game is often loose and potentially profitable - no smoking, but the ventilation is poorBally's - definitely a fun
