Daniel, I'll deliver you some groceries for a 2 hr. Triple Draw lesson. I was going to head down to the Grand for some cash action this week anyway.

It is indeed a skin of pokerroom. I was hoping that FCP would be a little better than a pokerroom skin since Daniel and his fans/followers love to play more than just the satndards offerings that PR offers. The only tourneys are HE and Omaha. There aren't any stud variety SNGs or tourneys, nor is there a place for 2-7 TD and razz. I played PR for a long time. I grew up and found a new place.

I'm mostly a lurker in the stud forums, but I read a lot of the advice here. Just played my first stud h/l tourney at Bugsy's place and placed third. Thanks for the advice. Ya'll can come share the beer I'll buy with the winnings.

Agreed. The nuts plus a 2nd nut flush redraw on an unpaired board gets my money against a donk every time. You just got unlucky.

I'd dump it with a bet and a call in front of you. The possible hands that could be betting are two pr, set, str., larger str. draw, and flush draw. The only way that this hand holds up is if a spade doesn't come, the board doesnt pair, the board doesn't make a larger straight (which you probably wouldn't catch unless a non-spade 9 fell), etc. In hands like this, I'd rather cut my losses than face more bets on the turn. You really only have 3 outs to improve and a ton to avoid along the way.

In a limit game, I would have tried to make my hand a little more cheaply that reraising him on the flop. I put him on a low draw and/or a flush draw right away. Plus, you're only working with 5 outs to catch the nut boat or a straight flush. If I were to chase this hand, I'd have check called and prayed that I didn't, at best, get scooped-Ted

I took a course in basic auto repair from the local community college. I don't see mechanics very often these days. I will say that most small GM cars give me headaches. None of my Nissans ever have.-Ted

I really like Mike Caro's advice here... Do what the players would expect you to do. It's rare to complete the bring in for sure, but the other situations warrant a little more study. If you have (AA)2, then play it like you have an exposed 2. Same thing with rolled up twos. The hard part about playing stud is doing what people expect you to do, not what you expect yourself to do. The exception would be at a micro table where you could reasonably expect 5+ callers.-Ted

Welcome to tunica.... I've been dying to get in to some live Omaha games, but the only tables running in the entire county seem to be HE and stud..... I love stud, but playing at a 2-5 stud table does nothing for me. I played in a few of the WSOP Circuit events there earlier this year, and it was a sad week for the Omaha/Stud players. I expected the same for this year's WPO and was not disappointed. The Grand has a slightly more promising roster of events for its big series in early 06... -Ted
