  1. So I was playing at the MGM Grand the other day, and a few of us had a few props going...We were informed that this is not allowed and we would have to stop...How do other people do this? Is it just not enforced at the highest limits?
  2. Anyone else playing in this or know anything about it? I just won the state finals, so it looks like I'm on the state team, but I'm not really 100% sure what's involved. I know that we'll be playing other state teams, but since it's a heads up format, I'm really not sure what to expect.Anyone been there before or know anything about this? Thanks!
  3. I've been there a number of times, and I can't say enough about it. Without a doubt the nicest room in AC - I do love the Taj, but the Borgata is just the nicest...They have a great poker room rate during the week as well...it was like $50 for the room as long as you play for 6 hours (might have not been 6 - dont quote me) of play. The last time we were down, we took a break to head over the the Trop for their nightly rebuy event - I really doubt I'll ever go there again after seeing the contrast.
  4. Event is going to start tonight! Get in early to be on top of the leaderboard
  5. Now I'm not trying to complete with the ones from this forum, but the site that I am involved with is also hosting $10+$1 events on PokerStars.com. The first event will be No Limit Hold'em and it will be run tomorrow at 7:00 PM EST.The password can be found in the forums at www.neosilk.comThanks and good luck in all the events!
  6. Weak players mean you need to push harder - I think you should have bet more preflop and I really think you needed to push MUCH harder after the flop. When something like this happens to me, I always like to take a step back and see if I think there was something that I could have done better in the hand. You only raised him another 200 after the flop. He needed to call $200 into a pot that had at least $1100. Open ended straight with 2 cards to come, I think he made the right move calling your very small raise.
  7. My worst one...Well...it's not really a bad beat, as he had AA and I had 77. This was a $3/$6 limit game on-line. He was in early position and I was on the button. He limped (first into the pot) there was one other limper before it got to me. 2 people in, pocket sevens, I also limped, and both blinds called/checked. The flop came A-7-7. I flopped quads for the first time in my life!Limper bet, call, I raised, both blinds folded, limper re-raises, other limper folds, I cap it. Turn is a 4. He bets, I raise, he re-raises, I cap.River..the case ace. He bets, I raise, he re-raises, I just
  8. Wow...after reading the review by Daniel, I had to read it again. Alas, my thoughts were the same as the first time I read it. Just did not work for me. It has some good points, and I, as well, am not a professional critic or writer, but I just did not like the way it flowed. The entire novel seemed very disjointed and thrown together. But that's just my thoughts on it...
  9. Wow...this is the first I've ever seen of people who do not like his writings...Personally, I think he's a great author. When I started playing on-line tourneys, I was not doing well at all. I had been making some money at cash games for a while, but had failed to even cash in an online multi table event in my first 25 showings. Well...I took a week off and read Tournament Poker for Advanced Players a few times...Well (and yes, I know one really has nothing to do with the other) I came in 3rd in the next event I played in, and cashed in 17 of the next 50 events with 3 wins. I have since go
