I played some 1/2 NL at the Crystal Palace a couple years ago. Mostly people who can barely play and one very drunk dude with lots of cash to throw away. I paid for my whole trip in one night.

I played the Planet Hollywood tourney last week. Some of the absolute worst players I've seen anywhere, but the structure is SO fast it's a crap shoot at best. Ten tables and the whole thing was over in under four hours. Try the MGM, they have a decent tournament at 6 every day with 40 min levels and 3k in chips to start. Moves fast near the end, but all those low buy in events do... good luck.

It worked for me too. Once. I tried to deposit again recently and it was denied. Guess my bank caught on.

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton last year, they have a couple tables in their small casino, but they were closed when I was there (to my girlfriend's relief). They should be running this time of year, I think they have 1/2 NL. The Intercontinental is a few hotels over and they have a decent room with daily tournaments and WSOP satellites.

I stay at the Trump Marina, it's cheap and you can walk to the Borgata from there. The Trop isn't bad, just make sure you get the poker rate.

I'd recommend the 100+20 freezeout at the Tropicana tomorrow. Usually around 10 tables, decent structure. Or the Borgata for SNGs.

I'm going to San Juan for a few days in July, has anyone ever played at a casino there? Do they even have poker rooms in these hotel casinos?

I haven't stayed there, but their poker room is one of the smaller ones in AC. It's actually on a different floor from the casino. Not crowded at all, seemed like more locals than tourist types when I was there. I recommend playing at the Tropicana, Taj or Borgata. Better rooms and more tables.

Thanks for the tips. On a related note, where do you guys think the loosest, most touristy cash games are in Vegas?

Going to Vegas from June 16-19, anyone have any suggestions for MTTs with decent structures without rebuys? Looking for lower buy ins, around $100 or lower. I'm staying at the MGM Grand, but willing to play anywhere...

That's sounds cool, I'll definitely look for it.The best thing about both Harrington books is the hand examples in each chapter. Real situations from tournaments, where he walks you through a hand as he would play it and shows you the things you need to be considering at that stage in the tournamnent. And they don't always turn out the way you'd expect, just like the real thing. Really teaches you the NL thought process, which can apply to any game really. Similar to Sklansky's "Theory of Poker" in that respect. Harrington's third book is supposed full of these exercises. Can't wait.

If you play NLHE tournaments, get both of the Harrington on Holdem books. Or at least start with the first one. Amazing books, whatever you think of Dan Harrington...

People are avoiding anything on Craig's List, and posting online in general these days. I played at a place last night that had three times its normal crowd and they've upped their rake as a result. Pretty much the only game in town these days. Guess I'll have to call up A-Rod.

Does anyone on FCP play regularly in New York? Where do you play? We've had several clubs get shut down in the past month, and short of Atlantic City or Foxwoods, there aren't many places left to play around here. It really sucks. If anyone knows of any homegames or places that have managed to survive, please send me a PM... thanks.
