in honor of robert duvall i watched TENDER MERCIES. i'm not sure i had heard of it before he died and didnt realize its what won him his oscar. he was very good and i enjoyed it and i enjoyed the world of small town texas in 1983, such a simple time.

i havent been to a movie theater since 2019, and i believe that was for mission impossible fallout. going to the movies was always about seeing it with someone, so that's been out for a long time. i did watch the new running man with my mom on paramount plus. i liked it. i think it was pretty much exactly how i feel about glenn powell himself, everthing was there to make a great movie it was just slightly off. same way he should be a massive action star and he just isnt yet, but i can't figure out why. still enjoyed it though.

i'm much to shallow a person to watch a movie like sentimental value. i just watched the trailer and it looks painfully boring to me. last night i watched 'no way out' with gene hackman and kevin costner. solid little flick, but much more my level. if you've seen it i thought they rushed the ending, needed a few more scenes. i generally don't watch 'horror' or 'horror adjacent' films, so i havent seen sinners. but i will probably watch it at some point give the talk. only reason i havent seen F1 is it hasnt been on any of the 5 streaming services i have and i won't pay beyond that

that's awesome man, congrats on making it 15 good years. your media consumption is insane, those are hall of fame numbers you're putting up. i assume you know all the oscar nominated movies too, what should win? i think of the nominees i only saw one battle after another, but i can't imagine even if i had i would think any of the others should even stand a chance.

damn glad to hear that fritzy, damn glad indeed. i havent seen either of those, i'm generally not a fan of horror movies or horror adjacent movies. i'm sure i'll see them someday, but i've been watching old stuff lately. just watched the LONSOME DOVE miniseries. not sure i had never seen this before, but i thought it was very good. not ashamed to say my eyes welled up when even though i'd die pretty quickly out in the wild it does make a man who has spent his whole life behind a desk long for open country. like up where brvy used to live, when he was alive. rip to that old

what keeps you coming back to do this, fritzy? where do you get your commitment?
-
fritzy baby, what's going on in your life these days? not much new for me on this side of the world. i'll be an uncle soon, which is cool. it's not looking good for me every having any kids of my own so i'm glad for the chance to be an uncle - hopefully i won't end up being the weird uncle she never talks to. work is work, it never really changes. retirement being at least 20 years away is rough, but we trudge on, don't we?

Big D, would you still have Schnechdoche number 1? I have never seen it and i'm not sure i've even heard of it. -
i'm still waiting on my apology. i also want an apology from the losers who ruined the show. long as i live i'll never get over how badly they fvcked up the final seasons and the ending.

Better Call Saul

years later, this show is stands superior to bereaking bad in my mind. i might go so far as to say this was the best show ever made. only time can reveal if it will stand above the sopranos or the wire, but it is right there in my mind as of today. -
hopefully he's not dead. i dont want him to have died thinking i had abandoned the sick thread forever. brvy, wherever you are, my brother, the beacons are lit, we call for aid.

holy shit, i just completely forgot to put Seven in there. just a total brain lapse, it has to be on there at number 3, no question. i didnt really think the big short was that great. margin call was way better imo.
