Hey Daniel,Glad to hear your coming to Vail, it's really beautiful this time of year. I know it's a bit of of a long shot but, if your looking to pass some time on Monday night and play some poker, I'd love it if you could stop by. I run a Monday night 2/5 nl game in a local dive bar. It's myself and 5-6 other guys. Monday's are slow so after 8pm were really the only ones in there. Not sure where your staying, if you're actually going to be in Vail or your going to be in Avon/Beaver Creek. Either way I've got your cab ride to make it eaiser. If it sounds like fun let me know.

I played with him one night at the bellaigo for about 3-4 hours with James Woods and some guys from cardplayer mag. He was on my left the whole time. I thought he was a decent player - aggressive in some spots and not in others. He had been drinking a little but, didn't seem to be affecting his game - more his ego. Overall he's not a bad player and kind of a dck. James Woods had him covered all around though. Better player, nice guy and huge ego.

Most card rooms you will go to will be cold. To be honest I've never been in a warm cardroom. I was out there last July and everytime I went to the card room I traded in my shorts and shirt for pants and a patagoina regulator. I do get cold easily but, I know I wasn't alone. If you are going to be playing early in the morning (3-7am) bring a jacket because it is like an ice box in there.

I don't know if memorizing is the right word but, I understand what you are saying. I really think most of it comes in time. I took the advice from Mike Caro, just concentrate on one person for the whole session. Look at what he does and doesn't do. How did he bet and so on. After the hand is played replay it in your head and see what sticks out. Make a mental note and watch for it again. After a while it kind of becomes second nature and you can add more people to you list. And pretty soon you are watching the whole table without frying your brain.Another key thing I do is I have a group of p

I think you just qualified the paragraph you put in bold. Really it is in the down time when you are losing that you become a better player and better at self control. Most of the time you won't win through your great play, you win through other players mistakes. That is a very key thing to remember.Maybe it's key to remember just before you call someone a "donk!" and try to educate them on proper play. Just because you lost to a gut shot doesn't negate the above post. Also, I don't think (going out on a limb here) that the above post was directed to someone catching a 4 outter. Rather I think

I'm in my 6th down moth. I've won a few weeks here and there but, at the end of the month I'm still down. Bad cards and a few bad decisions is really all it takes. I've had some of the worst beats in those months but, all records show it will soon turn around. The suck part is I can't play as much as I used to. I've got a buddy that was in the same postion this time last year and last month cleared a little over 100k. The only joy I can take out of this is that I've become a much better player in the last 6 months than I was before this streak. Also, most people don't realize that back in 03 -

Nothing has taught me more about poker than losing my ass at the table. Books are great and can only get you so far. It seems every six months I have a great epiphany about poker. Really most of my skill has come from hours at the table and talking about hands with other friends.

I think this is a good fold. Any two spades beat you, any king beats you, k9 aj aq and a10 all have you beat. Thats a ton of cards that anyone of those 5 could have. You'll make more money in the long run by folding that hand.I would have bet the flop. Slow playing here or check raising is bad given this flop. Too many draws that can beat you on the turn.

I'm not a math freak but, this seems pretty simple to me. If you have been delt a pair there are less cards in the deck and two of those cards are taken. So the table has a better chance of pairing their first card than if you didn't have a pair.

Mostly if I'm not mistaken cash only plays on ulimited buy-in tables. It would be harder to put all that money in to chips. The nice part about cash playing however is that you don't cash it out. At the Wynn if you try to cash out anything over 5k they take your name and info. At the Bell. it's 10k. This is great for tax purposes, because you just pocket the money.

I think it's fair to say that bdc30 just likes being a dck.

Yes you can rail the big game through the glass, just not forever. I was playing on table 19 which is the table right next to the glass doors on thursday and there were railbirds there all night. They'll let you stand there for about 10-15 min. before the move you. Also it's a little anoying when you're trying to play, so if you do be curtious.
