WestcoastCanuck 0
Playing early in the morning against mostly senior players (ie rocks). A few calling stations. CO is unknown, but he has looked very aggressive so far.I raise with 6d6h in MP2, CO 3 bets, folded back to me. I call, and we take a heads up flop of:Qc 9s 5s.I check call. The turn is 8d (Qc 9s 5s 8d). I check, CO bets, I call.River 7c (Qc 9s 5s 8d 7c). I bet.Good?
Zach6668 513
I would strongly consider folding the flop.Depends on what you think his 3-betting range is. What is his 3-betting range? As played, you're only getting like 5.5-1 on the turn call, with at best 6 outs if we're behind... that's only a 13% chance of hitting, while we'd need 15.4% equity, hmmm... the problem is you'll be facing a river bet a lot of the time if you miss, right? If you miss, are you c/f'ing a blank, like a deuce, say? If you're ahead, do you expect him to check behind on the river, or fire one last desperation bluff? What he would do on the river with a worse hand is pretty important to this turn call. When we hit, the lead is standard, and I'd expect to get called by any pair. I'm just not sure what to do if we miss, and are faced with a final river bet.
WestcoastCanuck 0
I had never played with this guy before. This was his 5th or 6th hand, but he had been agressive in almost all of them. He did seem to know another player (not at the table) who is LAG, but like I said, this guy is basically an unknown. I think I should have folded the flop.
RISEorFall 0
i usually fold this opening in MP2especially with aggressive opponents behind me and calling stations in the blindsill raise 77, though
Actuary 3
I've struggled (well not struggled) with the idea of plaiyng mid pairs HU.I want to put villain on overs all the time and if I call the flop, I want to call down unless A/K hitA simple consideration of a 3-betting range vs the pot odds to call down, with consideration of A/K hitting, or you improving - could reduce this to a simple math problem. Also, I've tried to think more about calling the turn w/o odds, expecting overs to check behind a lot on the riverother times I take a c/r line in the flop
Shimmering Wang 1
River 7c (Qc 9s 5s 8d 7c). I bet.Good?Yes, getting nailed right in the forehead with a non-spade 7 on the river is good. Very good.As for the hand, I think your line is kinda crappy. You have no idea what his 3-betting range is. You have no idea what his postflop tendencies are. You don't have any idea what he'd do if you check/raised the flop with ANY of his holdings, air or solid.Your options are as follows:Check/raise the flop, fold to further aggression. Kick yourself if he shows AJ no pair later. Bet most turns, check most rivers.Check call the flop, check/raise a safe-ish turn. Check all non-dominantly sweet rivers.Fold the flop. Small visibility, no reads, plenty easy ways to drop a few bets and wonder later how you got so much money into the pot in such bad shape. Check/call, check/call, bet is kind of a lame line without a read, and you can accomplish whatever you're trying to accomplish in some other, more effective way.Wang
Moneyball16 0
i usually fold this opening in MP2especially with aggressive opponents behind me and calling stations in the blindsill raise 77, thoughMP2 is the HJ right? You cant fold 66 there.
Frez 0
MP2 is the HJ right? You cant fold 66 there.1 SB2 BB3 UTG4 UTG +15 UTG +26 MP17 MP28 MP3 - HJ9 CO10 DealerYes?So first in with 66 leaves 3 LP players and 2 blinds to act behind. Not a happy place to raise and get 3 bet.If there is a player short, what drops off. UTG+2 or MP3?

Check raising the turn is very intriguing. I think it could get him to fold a lot of hands that have odds to call, and might even make him fold some hands that beat me. It seems like a ballsy move to do against an unknown, especially at the 4-8 limit (which, here, is the fishiest game around). Do you attempt this often with no reads?
