Best play here? I just moved to the table a few rounds ago, had been playing relatively tight. Made a reraise pre flop and took the blinds once. Pretty sure I folded everything else.
No real read on this player.

I jam here as villain could be on the flush draw and you are now double gutted so you have more outs if he has you beat. Also, a jam might be enough to get him off of a 9 since you have shown strength thru the hand so an overpair has to be in the range that he gives you.

Especially if he quickly called i would put him on a draw that didn't get there on the turn.
I think it's pretty unlikely he has a 9 so I would just shove.

I went for a check raise here. I thought my check perfectly represented a hand like AQ and that checking would induce a bet from a wide variety of hands (many that I had beaten). So, I checked, he bet, and I pushed.
Thoughts on this play?

He's probably on a flush draw, has overs, or has a pp himself. But of course he could be slowplaying a straight or a set. Given your stack, I think you have to push here (any smaller bet is too small or pot-commits you anyway) or check-fold. I'd probably do the latter myself.

ETA: Now that I've read the whole topic, I see that you went for a creative play that hadn't occurred to me--the check/push. If he has nothing (or very little) and he wouldn't have called a push cold, you grabbed yourself some extra chips out of the deal. If he's got a set or a straight you don't lose any more than you would have had you pushed to begin with. If he has diamonds, though, you just set things up so that he has the right odds to call; and if he has something like A9 he will also now likely call where he might have folded had you just pushed the turn straightaway. Six of one and half a dozen of the other, I'd say.

I'll also add that I didn't see in my original answer that you had the double-gutshot. That would make me much less likely to go with the check-fold.
