Bb Hand, How Strong Is My Draw?

Recommended Posts

Absolute PokerLimit Omaha Ring gameLimit: $2/$46 playersConverterPre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with 5 :D 6 :) T :club: K :D UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, Hero checks.Flop: 3 :D J :icon_dance: Q :) (3 SB, 3 players)SB bets, Hero calls, UTG+1 folds.Turn: 2 :) (2.5 BB, 2 players)SB bets, Hero calls.River: A :D (4.5 BB, 2 players)SB bets, Hero raises...Anyone toss in a raise anywhere else? Flop, all I have is an oesd, obv, but turn I pick up another gutter to the nuts, as well as a potential low draw. My gutshot could counterfeit a decent ace low, if the 2 and 3 didn't do it already, etc.I think I played this standardly though, but that really doesn't mean anything when I recall nothing about O8.

the action is screwed up, but it does look like another player is in between you and the button. if that is the case i would lead the river. i might also lead the flop, but i have a feeling this is a mistake and im too aggressive with semi-bluffs out of position.

I might be tempted to raise the flop to buy the button and get a free card on the turn...also if SB is betting bottom 2, you might well take it down there.
I was hoping to keep the other player in, is that a mistake in a split pot game when I really only have a reasonable high draw?

Yes, it is often a mistake: when you have a reasonable hand (or draw) one way and a weak one the other then you want to get rid of players to promote your weaker side. Remember, split pot games are about scooping. Here you have an emergency low that goes up in value if a 2 hits.....as long as you have slimmed the low down to the A2's.

I'm not sure about raising the flop with an OE to the high half, and the 9th best runner runner low draw...It would have to be against some fairly timid players. More of a raise for a free card.
