Jargonator 0 Posted May 12, 2007 Share Posted May 12, 2007 A Situation arose deep in a NLHE tourney, I was sitting with around 15k in chips and blinds were 400/800,i was in utg+2 and i have pocket queens, utg+1 pushes all-in infront of me for 5.2kwhat do i do here with the rest of the table still to act?do i smoothcall?or do i push in my 9.8k behind to try and prevent other players from entering the pot.pushing player seems pretty solid.sorry no hh. But I really think pushing here is the best play, I think KK or AA you gain a lot by calling but with QQ you dont mind isolating and giving up a little equity in order to preserve your tourney life. If you just call, hands like A-Q or even A-J might be enticed to come in because of the pot odds and they can spike an Ace and cost you the pot. You're also putting maximum pressure on A-K.
