Final Table Bubble Strat Thread

I've ft bubbled my last three mtt's and it's starting to get old. Then again, I don't want to limp into the ft with the short stack. How does everyone else approach this crucial point of the tourney? Are you gonna keep trying to accumulate chips or are you gonna just try to sqeak in, are you happy with a med. or short stack at the ft?

Oh, and I play fairly LAG on the bubble usually, but not overly so. If you are overaggressive you are going to bust far too often.Just look for good spots to take the blinds (and good players to take the blinds off), and try not to play big postflop pots without big hands. It's ok to steal with junk preflop, but if you do get called it's usually going to be best playing more conservatively.Oh, and your sig is wrong. See the SHLHE forum. I like being pretty aggressive at the final table bubble, because when I do get to that point I usually have a big stack. Put pressure on everyone, but don't go nuts. I like to raise a lot of hands that are suited or even connected if I have a really big stack (M 20+), so people know that I can hit any flop, and make my continuation bets more believable. I'll shove against a raise from mid to late position with some marginal hands (77+, AQ+), just to let people know that there's a chance they'll have to play for all their chips when they play against me. It's just that the prizes are usually insignificant until you get to 5th place, and even then the jumps are huge to 1st. The chips you earn on the money bubble and the final table bubble are vitally important to your eventual finish in the tournament. If you have enough chips at the final table where you can actually play some poker as opposed to being committed to every hand you play, you have a HUGE edge and a great chance to win the tournament. If you play to gather chips, it helps eliminate luck at the final table.
