About 30 mins after the re-buy period in a "double stack" (3000 starting chips with 3000 rebuys & add ons) $7 tournament.I have ~14K (about 15th with 90ish to go) and I have 33 MP. There's an EP limper ahead of me, I limp in MP, the SB completes & BB checks. Flop is KKQ. All 3 check it to me & I bet 800 into a 1200 pot. Only the BB calls.Turn card is a 3. BB checks, I bet 1800 into 2800. The BB is chips leader with over 30K before the hand started. He min-raises me to 3600.What do people think the min-raise represents here? Usually I've found at these stakes, that it's a sign of strength. I have no reads on this bloke as I've only had about half an orbit at this table.Only KK, KQ & QQ beat me here, right? And it'd be fair to assume all would have raised from the BB pre-flop?I'm assuming this is an easy call to make? Does anyone chuck away the full house because the min-raise often represents a lot of strength?

I think KQ is the only hand you may run into here as some would check with that with the 4 limps in front to use as a drawing hand. Having said that, I reraise or even push with this hand as he could have Kx Qx or a hid pocket pair and be willing to call with alot of those hands. I would not give a chance for villain to draw out on you.

If he flopped the joint with KQ, gg. I shove here. Minraises at this level don't always mean strength. I find the opposite most of the time actually. People think they're making a move that shows strength while investing as little as possible. But even if he is doing it with strength here (any K), you're still ahead of everything but KQ and K3. (I'm ruling out that he checked a limped pot with KK/QQ)This is also why you lead from the BB when you hit it. I usually check behind on the flop because so many low limit players still think slow playing is a good idea, and then you smile those few times you see that 3 hit.

It's far more likely that he has a K than that he has a boat; I'm shoving here. If he's got a boat, then GG me.On another note, what the heck are you doing betting with a small pair into a paired board full of broadway cards?? I don't care that it was checked to you, you gotta check behind here against that many players. It's highly likely that someone has a piece of that board, and equally likely that they will treat your bet as a position bet and call with all kinds of stuff, leaving you with the sickening problem of having to deal with the turn if you miss. The 3 bailed you out, but don't make that bet next time. Take the freebie.

Yes, I agree that was probably the biggest mistake - betting the flop.But we all agree that on the turn, he's getting it all in with enough hands that my boat is going to be ahead way more often than not?

Yeah, its definitely possible he has KQ, but more often than not I think you are in good shape and well worth going for it.

The min raise on turn. Actually that raise was a check raise which I did not realize before. Signs are much greater that you could be against that KQ but I think a person with KJ or KT may do the same thing(AK too but again no pre-flop raise would have thrown me). would have played this the same way.Just a tough break in my opinion as I do not see enough evidence that you are beat.
