26 Left, 18 paid, 9 get real money. I'm sitting in 14th.

Villain has been on tilt for about 15 minutes now in chat. I have added to his rage by pointing out that he made a mistake on the turn in the hand that caused him all his grief...so he's been calling me names too. smile.gif That being said, he has continued to play solid tight poker during his rant. His ranging range here is very tight IMO.

My image is tight and my raises have been getting respect. I've shown down pocket kings, a flopped straight in the BB, and a set of 7's.

His non-shove makes me feel that he has you beat. Like others said, raise to about 1800 (or even less at this late stage) and it makes your decision a lot easier. As played, I guess we have to fold given the reads, but it's definitely a push/fold situation. If we call, we're putting the rest of our stack in on the flop no matter what.

I guess you could just call here, hope he has K-K or Q-Q and hope that an Ace comes on the flop. Then when you push he might make a terrible fold.

I go anywhere from 1600-2200 here PF. Your raise is a little big, it's big enough that he could be reasonably sure you don't have AA or KK and raise you with anything. That kind of thinking would be a bigger buyin though and I'd just assume he had a monster and fold. JJ UTG is tough at this stage but by raising the big amount that you did you really made JJ the same as 27o on a blind steal.

Raise less preflop.... 3x is still fine at this point in the tourney.

This one's based on reads IMO, if you think he might do this with AQ, AK, ... meh, it's still tough cuz he's committed himself.

The PF raise was a table dynamic thing. 4x was the minimum raise that anybody was respecting, and even those were garnering 2 callers. It would not have been construed as a bluff at this table because there had been very little of that. The button was a complete maniac and felt it was his place to nearly every raise with just about ATC. His action had shutdown the bluffing. My hope was to end up headsup with him and finally knock him out.

I went into the tank on this one and ended up folding. He showed wired K's.

2 hands later I'm in the SB and pick up KK. Cutoff raises and I push. He calls with 33 and turns the set. Out in 24th.

why that brutal **** always happens at the worst times to the better player never ceases to amaze me. Effing good fold on the JJ though. I probably would have called with the pot odds so good.

I would just push preflop here. Given the size OPs raise I would have to call, Were not going anywhere meaningful in this tourney with 3k chips.

If we were closer to the bubble I would min-raise and fold to a big re-raise unless ive shown down min-raises with middle pairs at this table, in which case Id limp and call almost anything that raises back short of a pot committing amount.

Do you mean push versus calling villains raise? With that I agree, but a fold here does not cripple me.

Folding left me with 5600 chips and two blinds to eat. So effectively 4700 chips. After the fold I was sitting in 17th. 5k is enough to steal blinds on the bubble against these stacks, and it only takes a couple to be in decent shape at 1200 a pop.
