Was playing down at the Edgewater in Vancouver last night and there was this huge 10-25NL game going on. Does anyone know if this is a normal game for a Tuesday or any other night there? Had a look from the rail and needless to say there were some monster stacks including >$20K in front of Brad Booth in seat #1.

How do you step down that much in stakes and still maintain focus?
"I can psych the shit out of people. I don't need cards to beat you. I can literally have no cards, and I would still beat you. You think that's not playing fairly, or that's not the way a gentleman plays? I would fight you over that."

I guess in terms of absolute value, 20 k is still a lot of money. Even though it is lower stakes, if it is a deep stacked game, there is potential for big profit.

It is a Semi-Private game that goes every Tues and Fri and sometimes Sat. $6 Rake. No Bad Beat. No rules against angling, cell phones etc ... basically, they do what ever the heck they want including circumventing buy-in limits by making it "private". Last Friday Yukon (great guy btw!!) had over 30K in front of him and left it there for more than 2 hours as he had somewhere to go! Btw, he hit a two AND a three outer on the river to win most of that 30 after buying in for 10'ish.

Cool, I'm headed down there again tonight, after the game. Sadly the old BR only gets me in the 2-5NL game these days.

How's the poker down there in charity casino alley? ...er... Toronto. Vancouver misses you too. You should organize a big road trip to Vancouver hitting *every* casino enroute (as long as it has a poker room) with the plan of arriving just in time for the Johnny Chan poker classic (you had better leave now... The JCPC starts on the first Sunday of May)

My cats are freaked out, I have a headache, and I'm probably going to put on pants for the first time in three days and find somewhere to go that's not here.

Couldn't agree more ... its jus tpretty rare to see $30K just sitting there for hours with no player in the seat.Fleung = SmartAnyone who's had the opportunity to spend time here in VanCity loves it ... most beautiful City in the World, imo, just don't ask what the weather's been like recently!
