This one is a surprise :club:
Heh, I considered fucking with some people's heads by picking Detroit in 7, but opted against. The hockey gods are a fickle bunch, and don't take kindly to taunting.

Lot of people are picking Buffalo...A lot of people will be surprised when the Rangers win this series.

Boomer Esiason picked the Rangers to win last night on his show. If that doesn't flat-out guarantee a Buffalo victory, I don't know what will.

I am a Bills fan however...We all know Buffalo and Championships dont go so good together...I have lived through the painful "wide right" and the 4 consecutive losses...Lets face it, Buffalo has a jinx...Red Sox had Babe Ruth, The cubs have the goat...Buffalo has...ummm.....dont know..but its bad.

All it takes to break a jinx is one good run. I won't deny that the road to the Cup final is paved in tears, but the Sabres are a gritty team with a lot of veterans who've been oh-so-close before. Even if a lot of people are starting to doubt them (Renney, etc), they've got a ton of fight in them and haven't even *started* playing Playoff Hockey yet.

Lets both agree that this will be a fun series to watch and the most exciting one..New Jersey vs Ottawa(I cant enjoy as I hate both teams...but Ottawa more)Anaheim Vs Vancouver...No match as Anaheim will blow them awaySan Jose vs Detroit...This one has potential too...

This is exactly what I've been saying since the sun set on Tampa's season. It will be a great action-packed series, and I hope it really turns into a good rivalry between these two NY teams.

BUF over NYR in 5 (Buffalo starts to play)NJ over OTT in 6 (Emery plays to his true level)SJ over DET in 6 (Too big and strong for Detroit)ANA over VAN in 6 (Luongo's run comes to an end)

Buffalo over New York in 6NJ Devils over Ottawa in 6SJ over Detroit in 6Anaheim over Vancouver in 57-1 in first round picks, and I think it's fair to agree the Stars put up a healthy showing. Turco at least exorcised his playoff demons and couldn't have played much better.

I didn't do so hot in my 1st round predictions, I took Dallas, Tampa and Pittsburgh as my upsets and none pulled through for me, although I wouldn't change any of the picks based on my thinking at the time. I went 5-3 (Detroit, SJ, Buffalo, NYR, and Anaheim) for the 1st round. Shows you what I get for trying to pick against the grain.

AJS will be happy.... I just went on TV and picked the Sabres in 5.... (Although I was slightly goaded into it!!). I believe Sean Avery will be a huge factor.... in a negative way. If the Sabres can stay disciplined, Avery will take stupid penalties, and the Rangers will implode. Realistically, I believe the Sabres will win in 6 or 7, but it made for better TV to say they'd win in 5..... :club: Sidenote: most boring guy ever? Rick Dudley.... But now you can tape OTR and taunt me later when my prediction fails..... LOL
